FWIW, as others, I can't say I feel any of the intimations of demise here that some do. It seems pretty much as it has done for the handful of years I've been here, a sometimes intriguing/amusing/fascinating/instructive place to be, that often gets quiet at certain times of day, but this seems like a natural rising and falling of a tide rather than any kind of ominous sign.

In my "ideal" world, I would love for TC to merge membership with GMG, yet adopt the GMG platform.

TC has many more active members**, but GMG has the much better site and vastly better usage of the composer threads.

 $:)

**Interestingly, although it has been many years since, it was GMG that was the vastly more active site compared to TC.

As an Australian it's very noticeable that I have the place almost to myself for a chunk of the afternoons.  ;D

But this is hardly unusual. There are many parts of the internet where one can notice that Europe and North America represent a large chunk of the audience.
Every single post on the forum is unnecessary. Including the ones that are interesting or useful.

Hey hey hey ! An early Christmas present for Granddad Jeffrey !👼

What will it be for you, then ? Granpa ? Pops ? Granddad ? 🤪

Congratulations Jeffrey, you must be very happy. I hope all went well. Hugs all around. Did they give her a pretty name?
Details please!

My gripe with TC is that there are so many sub-forums, conversations could be happening on topics that I am intensely interested in and I wouldn't even know. When I venture out of the listening thread I see users that I didn't know existed. I have no time to poke around in so many nooks and crannies.

That is my beef as well, and why I vastly prefer GMG for the user interface and organization of sub-forums. TC is a hot mess in that regard.

Dude!  You are in the club!  ;D

Roy Bland
has introduced me most recently to Yuri Butsko's music and Mandryka reminded me to revisit Max Reger's String Quartet Opus 121.

If you find a thread that you would like to contribute to on TC, you can actually choose to follow that thread and you'll get notifications on when someone has made a new post. I don't find TC difficult to navigate at all, but there are sections of that forum that I never visit nor have any intention in doing so. The whole game section of TC is just stupid, IMHO. Chess is a game and so is Monopoly, but to turn classical music into some kind of game, especially when most of these games are what "the best" work from this or that composer or whatever is a colossal waste of time in my view.

TC is more vast than GMG and there's also a bit of a learning curve involved with navigating, but I always start at this particular point of the forum, which is bookmarked on my computer:

First thing I do when I'm there is go to "Classical Music Games and Polls" and click "Mark as all Read".  :)  But I apologize for derailing this thread, and if the mods want to move these messages related to TC then please feel free.
