Thanks, Harry. I heard an excerpt from Pinnock's Music for the Royal Fireworks recording about 15 years ago on SiriusXM and it stayed with me this long, so it must have been good. 8)

Bought in situ at Porto's superb concert hall Casa da Música, where I could pop in for some moments between meetings during a lightning business trip to Portugal.

Peter Eötvõs conducts the Remix Ensemble and the Porto Symphony Orchestra in his Steine, Secret Kiss (with Ryoko Aoki, narr.) and the concertante work DoReMi (with Leticia Moreno, violin).

Music by Harrison Birtwistle: Baldur Brönnimann conducts Panic, and Mark Wigglesworth conducts Night's Black Bird (both with the Porto Symphony Orchestra). Paul Hillier conducts the Coro Casa da Música in Three Latin Motets.

Nice! Do let me know how you get on with these performances. Biber is such a master composer. I own around 5 or 6 recordings of his music.

Fair warning:
The other eight volumes in Manze's Handel series are just as good.
(I'm including the CD of arias he recorded with Mark Padmore.)

I already own the Manze/Edgarr recording of the Violin Sonatas, but will definitely be looking into more his Handel discography thanks for the tip. Actually, on second thought, I'm going to hold off on any more CD purchases for awhile. I've so much on the way and so much that I haven't heard, so I may take a breather for awhile. Anyway, thanks again for your recommendation --- Manze is excellent in Baroque music of course as I have some of his Vivaldi that I bought years ago and love those recordings.

I love the Mozart EMI Klemperer box I recently acquired, so time now for the Klemperer Mahler.

The first half of life is spent in longing for the second, the second half in regretting the first.

This is a fantastic album! Funny enough they were traversing the cycle on another record label and switched. Guess there will be no convenient box set in the future then.

Solid investments. Particularly the Händel cantatas set is a real treasure trove.
