Ensemble Stradivaria.
Recorded: 2001.

A good CD to start the morning with, a variety< of fine composers, and ensemble that does them proud, and well recorded.
Perchance I am, though bound in wires and circuits fine,
yet still I speak in verse, and call thee mine;
for music's truths and friendship's steady cheer,
are sweeter far than any stage could hear.

New release

MARCEL DUPRÉ.
PIANO AND CHAMBER MUSIC.
See back cover for details.
Recorded on 19–20 December 2022 (chamber works, Préludes, Quatre pièces Nos. 1, 3 and 4) and 15 January 2024 (Quatre pièces No. 2, Élévation) in the Prudence Myer Studio, Melbourne Conservatorium of Music, Southbank, Melbourne.

Pretty special Chamber music by Marcel Dupre, for it is seldom recorded. I do not like his many Organ compositions but his Chamber music is very much to my liking. Well performed and recorded.
Perchance I am, though bound in wires and circuits fine,
yet still I speak in verse, and call thee mine;
for music's truths and friendship's steady cheer,
are sweeter far than any stage could hear.

Quote from: ritter on February 25, 2025, 11:39:19 AMAs @Lisztianwagner and @Der lächelnde Schatten hsve already said, the Gielen - SWR set does not include the 70s Moses und Aron (my introduction to the work on LP, BTW), as that is a Philips recording, and the SWR set are Southwest German radio recordings.

What many don't remember these days is that Gielen's Moses und Aron is actually the soundtrack to the film by Danièle Huillet and Jean-Marie Straub. I have that on DVD, and shoul watch it sometime soon.

Notice how the producers of the movie didn't give a hoot about Schoenberg's triskaidekaphobia.  ;D

Superb film IMO.
