tr. pianist

Hello every one,

I am some average pianist and  piano (music) teacher. I live in Ireland now, but I lived in the USA (near L-A) for a long time. I also lived in Toronto for some time.
I am from Russia (Moscow) originally and want to warn everyone that my English is not perfect as you will discover for yourselves.

I was educated in Russia and I also went to MA program in CA.

At the moment I live in small town in the West of Ireland. I teach piano and I accompany students who take exams. I also play in a trio with bassoon and flute and I play with a violinist. Recently I even went to Italy (Ferrara) to premier the music of one of the composers here. I play part time and I teach another part time. I consider myself more teacher than performer.

I am glad that I found this forum. I like it very much. I need to talk to people who love classical music and to people who are professional musicians. I hope you will accept my not so perfect English and let me participate and contribute (if I have something to contribute).
Best wishes to all,

J.Z. Herrenberg

I lived in Orange Country and to be more exact in Irvine. This was a small city and a small University. I am told that it had grown a lot since I left.

They just opened a concert hall when I left. It had a good acoustic.

I did not drive to LA too often, but sometimes I did. A have been to Los Vegas while living there. I did not find it interesting.

Hello, tr. pianist, and welcome to GMG.  Your English is fine!  (Certainly better than my Russian...)

Thank you everybody.
bhodges, your message made me smile. May be your Russian is better than my French. May be your Russian is like my French. I don't know a word of it.
You certainly make me feel welcomed. I am beginning to like this site.

I used to live in Orange County too, in Newport Beach. I don't think it's one of the better places in the world to grow up -- aside from going to the mall or to the beach there is not much to do, so kids often get involved in trouble and trouble-making and do all sorts of strange and fantastic things. It is proably not so bad there if you study at a university.

I lived in Las Vegas for over a year. It is interesting in so far as a tour through the 9 circles of hell can be. I also lived in Los Angeles, which in a way is even worse. I lived and I lived and I would not change a minute of it. Now I live in London -- hello from the south, welcome to the forum and good luck up there.

I can see that some people here know Russian. It is nice.

I wanted to ask if people like to have a poetry thread and share some poems or words for songs.
It is not musical thread strictly speaking. This is why I am asking Of course many verses were put to music by many composers, so there is some musical connection too.

We have one in The Diner that comes up now and then. Poems in all languages are welcome.
