Some recommendations mainly from the GMG Forum members:

Bohm - Works for Lute Harpsichord - really lovin' this instrument; probably my 3rd or 4th disc!

Mondonville - Motets w/ Christie; a Sara (Lethe) recommendation today - know I'll enjoy -  :D

Gottschalk - Piano Music w/ Licad; Don has convinced me to give this one a try!

Bach - Goldberg Variations w/ Toth on the lute harpsichord to add to my piano/harpsichord discs!  :)

I'll be very interested in your response to the Bach and Gottschalk.  I already have the Mondonville but don't remember much about it.

Finally pulled the trigger on these two box sets...

Great Vivaldi set.  I have 2 sets of essentially the same works.  I bought this 18-CD set by I Solisti Veneti back in January from MDT at a real great price.  I also hava an 18-LP set by I Musici on Philips which I bought over 20 years ago.

Just purchased the following CD's from Amazon ...

Just pulled the trigger on these:

;D HMV Japan (Tokyo) sent me two (cheap ) Denon Cd's in less than a week! Older recordings of music by Mayuzumi .Hiroyuki Iwaki conducts : Bugaku, Mandala symphony and Nirvana Symphony.
All extravagant, brillantly orchestrated works . Purists will detest the mix of avant garde techniques ( never more difficult than Messiaen/Penderecki) and movie-score pathos, heavily influenced by Impressionism . I do enjoy these opulent scores however! Never a dull moment and the best moments ( Nirvana's finale!) are truly awe inspiring....

But do take it in small doses.... ;)

If either of the parties in this dispute deserves to be singled out for reproach it is not Don.  By singling him out you indeed "took sides" Que, even though you said you didn't want to.

Just for the record (here): I do not accept that assessment.
I'll explain via PM why.

Did not get the chance to mention this.  I ordered 11 volumes of Schnabel Beethoven Piano Works on the Naxos Historical label from MDT a few days ago.  The order only left out the Piano Concertos as I do not like orchestral sound in monaural too much while piano sounds just fine in monaural when remastered properly.

Nuts and crackers.

It seems that you are on the Botero's side, premont  ;D.

No, somewhere in between.  8)

Too much of anything (except music of course  0:) ) blunts the senses.  ;)
