I haven't been listening that much, but I know of Radiohead as an indie band that achieved popularity.  But they only had like one song to ever reach #1 on the billboards right?  And I was still listening to music at the time.  And they never achieved that again did they?  You're comparing them to singers that can put several songs on the same album on the top ten.  That's a staggering difference!

Yeah, the Piano Man is one of my favorites, and he should be on the poll.  I'll lose even more street cred by saying that when I was a kid I had all of his albums and listened to them constantly.
