Speaking of Coen Brothers, I saw A Serious Man this weekend and it's pretty good. :)

You see, JdP, the Coen Brothers are pure genius (I would have thought you'd recognize that) and so of course they can do no wrong  ;)

Sarge

Don't confuse intelligence with genius. Coen Brothers can be clever. Fellini was a genius. See the difference?

I need to see that one again. the first time through it flew over my head.

That sounds a lot better than being hit in the face, though!
Do what I must do, and let what must happen happen.

Indeed...the author's failure to mention it pretty much negates the entire article. Calls into question his expertise anyway  ;D

Sarge

That's why I need you guys.  8)

I see you making judgment calls based on your own tastes...as usual  ;D

Sarge
the phone rings and somebody says,
"hey, they made a movie about
Mahler, you ought to go see it.
he was as f*cked-up as you are."

Did you like what the Coen Brothers made of it in their 2004 remake? I enjoyed it more than I thought I would.

Sarge

I haven't seen the remake, Sarge!

karlhenning

Well, JdP has a certain genius for buffoonery, let us allow him that much.

Nor have I, as I have a severe allergy to Tom Hanks.  :-\

All judgment is self referential.

I see that you are still too much of a wuss to dare argue my tastes, which would force you to drop your asinine relativist facade. As expected.

It's better than being here.

Seriously, it's a very special film.

Surely this doesn't apply to Bachelor Party, still Hanks' finest work.

This is among the best written black comedy I've read in a while . . .
The universe is change; life is opinion. - Marcus Aurelius, Meditations

People would rather believe than know - E.O. Wilson

Propaganda death ensemble - Tom Araya
