O, dear, see, the teasing begins already! ;D
Don't make me cry! :'(
Seriously, listen to these SQ, and your opinion will change, or I eat my hat! :)

Harry, I like Dittersdorf! That was a compliment: Richard Strauss said that about himself.

It is great fun to say Carl Ditters von Dittersdorf repeatedly. I do not know his music.

Beethoven: The ninth symphony. HvK '77.

If it wasn't for the ridiculous placing of the choir on the soundstage I wouldn't needed any other recording. Fantastic, at the very end it seems like the BPO almost erupts beyond HvK's control.
I love music. Sadly, I'm an audiophile too.

Beethoven Symphonies 3 & 8

SA_CD.net listing

Same approach as Vanska's but with smaller forces (a plus for me).   The third is
almost as intense as Savall's, and the eighth is too thrilling!

4&7 is also out but appears to be more expensive for some strange reasons.

SA_CD.net listing

HIP for all and all for HIP! Harpsichord for Bach, fortepiano for Beethoven and pianoforte for Brahms!

Saburo Moroi.

Sinfonietta. "For the Children".
Two Symphonic Movements.

National SO of Ireland/Takuo Yuasa.

As I said before this is a marvelous piece of work, up at the top.

Good morning/day to all!

Good day! How do you like it?

There's an error on the cover: the correct title is Poeme Roumain. :)

I have no other recordings of the pieces on these disc. So... from that limited perspective I will say that I find these to be fine performances competently recorded and they please me! I have read reviews stating that Fosters interpretation of the pieces recorded are "poetically sustained" and "Brahmsian".

Sergey Prokofiev.

"Cinderella", ballet, opus 87, Part one.

London SO/Andre Previn.

What a joy to hear these marvelous melodies flow out of your speakers, and how quickly it is immersing you into the wonderful world of ballet. And if you have such sensitive players and conductor alike, nothing stands in the way of pure bliss. And for me ballet and its music is pure bliss, I love to wander through the scenes together with the dancers, and see the movements of the feet, enjoy the choreography all but the ultra modern ones. Ballet, a world beyond reality, a world full of longing, dreams, romance, and grief in every form. I am floating.........................

A fine performance of a great piece, Harry!

Have you heard HvK's '63 recording of the same work? To me, it's even more volatile. The slow movement isn't as good as the '77 though.  :-\
