New York is more an Uncommonwealth.

New York State's official title is "Oh, there are other states?"

(poco) Sforzando

"I don't know what sforzando means, though it clearly means something."

Do you still live in the UK?

the phone rings and somebody says,
"hey, they made a movie about
Mahler, you ought to go see it.
he was as f*cked-up as you are."

Your iPhone automatically keeps track of your new location ...   ;D

I think it's great to have many people from the United Kingdom here on the forum, especially Scotland where many of my ancestors came from. Now I wonder how many members from France are on here? I have some French ancestry as well. German is also in my family. I'm one mixed up person. :)

Are there any Romanians here? I once asked for travel advice (in 2008) and my post received a grand total of zero replies.  :(

Il Conte Rodolfo (formerly Florestan) is from Bucharest.

Exactly.

AFAIK, there are two more Romanians here, Gabriela and pi2000 but they post very infrequently.

I must have missed it completely for whatever reason, sorry. If you're still interested, feel free to PM me.  :)

I went on holiday there in 2008 (Cluj, Brasov and Bucharest) and wanted a bit of inside info. Had a great time, although somebody could have warned me that my credit card company would block my cards the minute I tried to use them in Romania! Hasn't happened anywhere else in the world.

These are some of the nicest cities in Romania, although Bucharest has been greatly disfigured during Ceausescu's rule and lost some of the loveliest neighborhoods and much of its charm in the process.

I'm really sorry I missed your post back then, we could have met. My bad, next time I'll pay more attention.  :)

I can't figure out why that happened.  ???
