Just watched this. I can't for the life of me imagine why he decided to slow up near the end of Ondine when the score instructions specifically indicate not to. Other than that, totally awesome interpretation. His is the fastest Scarbo I've ever heard done that well.

Thats Solti doing the overture to La Trav, the first time I heard him conduct. (not live obviously)

Does anyone have the dvd of him doing LvB7? He goes into a trance during the 4th movement furiously conducting and almost dancing. I love to watch it even though the sound isn't optimal.

Theres also that story about him stabbing himself with the baton during the marriage of figaro :)
