Well, the site that I use to help get lucid dreams has been hacked by some Russian and the entire domain is for sale now. I'm almost surprised it's not the US government, considering how the government wants control over everything, and in lucid dreaming, you are in a completely realistic world where you are God (and anyone can learn how to do this). They backed up server, though, so hopefully they'll get their domain back or find another domain and e-mail me where it happens to be...

It's always something keeping me from getting to sleep early- for example, my friend who I've barely talked to in nearly 2 years calling me at night.  ::)

But at least I remembered a dream- I was in some building, and Daniel (madaboutmahler) was there, in person! I forget what he said

Probably something about Mahler or my violin sonata. ;)

I have some rather memorable and wonderful dreams so will make sure to post some of them here. ;)

Yeah, probably was something like that.

I've had a lot of interesting dreams the last week, though by now, the only one I can remember is one where I was sleeping by (or in?) one of the cars in a car dealership inside a shopping mall. The car I was by was a Dodge Viper. That was the same night where, at night, I was thinking about what sports car I'd like in 15 or 20 years with (discounting Lamborghinis and Ferraris because I'd never spend that much on a car), because of the new Acura NSX that is coming out (which is a cheap price for any type of sports car). I was trying to think of other ones, but the dream reminded me of the Viper...

It's like I completely lost the ability to lucid dream...

though only really memorable dreams I've had lately: 1) I met Dwight Howard some sort of movie theater, and 2) I met Patrick Ewing, but in my dream I acted like it was no big deal, because currently he is assistant coach of the Magic.

Maybe my loss of ability is due to pure boredom of doing anything to induce lucid dreams. It's all old news now. My mind has the problem of only being able to concentrate on things if they are novel, and almost the only reason I have even been able to have lucid dreams in the first place is if I discover some novel way of inducing them.

Apparently, my subconscious is still extremely attached to my group of friends from elementary-middle school. And when I wake up and realize which year it is, it's like complete devastation  :-\. The nostalgia is overwhelming. To be able to go back in time and eat lunch with my friends would be one of the greatest possibilities.

For record-keeping, I will mention that yesterday morning, I did have a lucid dream... actually, it happened twice.

I think if anyone not into this stuff had this type of experience and didn't understand what was going on, they'd think their soul was leaving their body (astral projection), but that's just nonsense. I basically just wiggled my "phantom body" out of my body and walked around in my room. Strangely, each time, I get the sensation that I'm floating above my body, but my head is attached strongly, and when I unattach it, I fall out of my bed. Then, when I wake up, I'm back in my bed (in reality). Fun stuff.

Had a lucid dream last night without even trying...  ??? The only problem is that I barely remember any of it. It was one of those lucid dreams where, somehow, even though you realize you're dreaming, you're not clear-headed at all and can't think straight.

Also dreamed that the Magic had traded Jameer Nelson for Steve Nash, which is something I would have liked to see, but also considered the negative aspect: Steve Nash may not have many years to go when he retires. And then what?

Accomplished a dream goal: grocery store domination.   8)

I happened to be in a grocery store when I realized I was dreaming, so, with the complete freedom, I just started picking up food and eating it. It's nice that every single sense, even taste, is just as real as real life. All you can eat for free is quite nice. I also came across a drink refill machine in one of the aisles (you know, like the ones in fast food restaurants) and simply pressed each flavor and drank a little bit of each.

This is the 4th time that I used no technique- just "belief" to induce a lucid dream. This "technique" can actually be the most effective, and also explains lucid dreamers who are "naturals." But my problem has always been consistency. I think that the reason might be that I just don't have confidence that I could pull this off each night, so I can't. And when it comes to this skill, confidence is actually one of the most important factors (along with understanding REM cycles). I think the way to be a consistent lucid dreamer is to simply fight off the doubt that I can be consistent.

Probably, I don't remember.  :D
My best guess was that he was leaving for the day from his school.

Anyways, I have a few ideas for dream goals. One is to actually time how long I've spent in a dream by playing back music (I don't know why, but I have somehow decided it has to be Mahler 6 earlier today, even before I read this comment  :D). My longest lucid dream felt like ~15-20 minutes, although you can dilate time to make it feel longer (it's possible, because certain drugs can actually have this effect).

Another is to pretend Mahler came back and wrote an 11th symphony. I would sit in a concert hall and listen to it. I'm pretty sure it's possible for it to sound great.

Once you have dreamt it, please write it all down from memory so we can all hear it!  :P

Of course, it'd be impossible to memorize it :P, but if I can remember an idea or two and incorporate it into my orchestral work project, Through the Rift of Dreams, that would actually make the title literal.   ;D

haha :)

I have remembered two dreams from the last week...
One was set in a Gothic Church, and I was in an orchestra playing Danse Macabre, the tam tam part (even though there is no tam tam part in Danse Macabre!). When I started playing the tam tam, the walls of the church and the pillars started to crack... and that's when the dream ended...   ???

The other dream was far more pleasant, it was me at school in our wonderful music department conducting my new chamber orchestra. As I will be conducting my own chamber orchestra at the school in around 3 weeks time (after the easter holidays which started today) this could have been in fact a foresight instead of a dream... if so, I'm in for a treat! :D

55 hours a week of work + school is killing my ability to lucid dream. The side effect of being too busy and needing escape is that, of course, when you need it, you can't get it- happens to most people, it seems. I bet when it's summer, I'll have a lucid dream once or twice a week, rather than once or twice a month now.  ::)

I wonder how I should customize the girls I can make up my dreams... usually it's easy to find them, but not all of them are hot- more like average to hot. Also, I might want to try talking to them before going up to them and randomly touching them.  ;D

Also, I want Mahler to be my dream guide. I haven't asked around for people to be my dream guide, though, probably because in my previous lucid dreams I've been distracted with girls, doing silly stuff, messing with dream characters, etc. One idea that just struck me as hilarious would be to walk in a crowd and make all of the people levitate off the ground. One person did that and everyone looked confused. Or even better, find a group of girls and make their clothes vanish at once. Stand there and just laugh at how freaked out they get.  :D

Probably part of the reason for less lucids is not waking up in the middle of the night and going back to sleep much lately.

Did that last night, and... well, I achieved lucidity, but that's about it. I was driving and remember to do a reality check because I genuinely wasn't sure whether I was awake or asleep (although that's a dead giveaway right there). I tried to make the car hover off of the road, and after a few seconds, it did, slightly. Then, for some reason, I thought that the dream should be unrealistic (why?  ??? ),  and it went blurry and the dream was over.  ::)

ibanezmonster

Great dream last night. Yeah, right...  ::)

I was at a slightly expanded version of my work area, walking around. I see two people I used to work with in the middle of the tall gate, with the back of their vests somehow clipped on to the fencing. They joke about falling, even though, if they did, they could possibly die. I keep on walking, and at the end of the gate, there is a young, fat guy doing the same thing, but from the top of the gate (certain death height). People below him tell him not to fall off.

I walk away to get away from the scene. However, that one hot Polish girl I work with starts walking towards the direction of the scene. I try to stop her from proceeding (she reminds me of an innocent kid sometimes, so I didn't want her to see anything). That's when I hear a loud thud and screams. The kid jumped off. This only makes Milena try even harder to get to the scene, and I keep on trying to stop her. Then I wake up.
