See, I was going to say Chris Christie for GOB.  And for Tobias, really, Marco Rubio.  Paul Ryan seems a George Michael-type to me.  Perhaps Bobby Jindal is Buster?

OK, Chris Christie's an excellent choice. My ballot:

Michael: Mitt Romney
George-Michael: Paul Ryan
GOB: Chris Christie
Lindsay: Sarah Palin
Tobias: Ted Cruz
Buster: Bobby Jindal
George: George W. Bush
Oscar: John McCain
Maeby: Ron Paul
Lucille: William Kristol (or Dick Cheney?)
Uncle Jack: Donald Trump
Annyong: Charlie Crist
Barry Zuckerkorn: Roger Ailes
J. Walter Weatherman: Jerome Corsi

Todd

You forgot one:

Carl Weathers: Herman Cain

Now, a critque:

Lindsay: Sarah Palin - predictable, but good.  Bachmann is just too crazy.
Tobias: Ted Cruz - Nice one.
Oscar: John McCain - Inspired.
Maeby: Ron Paul - Even more inspired.*
Lucille: William Kristol (or Dick Cheney?) - Definitely Cheney.
Annyong: Charlie Crist - So timely.

* I kid you not, I now have a little niece named Maeby, born just last week.

Headline: "Christie injects much-needed energy into convention." Translation: Months & months on, Romney still dull as dishwater. Last year's dishwater, at that.

Headline: Ann Romney invites America to "get to know" husband. America to Ann Romney: What, you think we've not been paying attention?

I watched Christie's speech.  I found it rather plain and uninspired, and some of the audience responses were not as enthusiastic as one might have expected.  I didn't see much energy or rousing of the masses.  I missed Ann Romney's speech.  Perhaps I'll watch online.  Later.

I miss the Gipper.  He knew how to give a speech.

Even though I was no fan, I have to say that Bill Clinton was among the best at that sort of rabble-rousing rhetoric. His acceptance speeches at both conventions damned near had ME voting for him!  :)

I heard both speeches, but tuned out mid-way into Christie's.  I thought Ann Romney did a very good job, but am unsure how much it matters.  These political conventions remind of high school pep rallies, but not as relevant. Plenty of sound and fury signifying nothing.

First glimpse on TV of the stage at the GOP con, I thought it was the Oscars. But then I saw those old, old faces, each with a desperation you rarely see on Oscar night (when those on stage look like the cat who got the cream).

So is Ron Paul still running? I don't recall anyone saying... any... thing...

I do like the way they ramrodded that rule change through. I can't imagine being one of those people who went whole hog for Paul,... shouldn't they have known that this is what the hacks do? Paul seems to have know, but not his followers.

I just turned on the tv and there's mitt, looking like he has a crick in his neck or something. The man's just stiff, like one of those actors in bad movies from the '50s. That doesn't mean he can't do other things, but if there's someone who seems to be auditioning for 'Best Impersonation of a SitCom Dad from the '50s',...

Where's the pipe? He looks like BOB,... you know?, BOB, that Religion of Bob thing?

Couple that with what BO said in Time, and I'm done. Either way we're totally, irreversibly f***ed. Maybe one takes longer, but, with any number of surprises in store between

a) now and the...mm... 'election'...

b) maybe more importantly, what happens between the election and inauguration (the Winter of Death? :o? :-X? ???? :o)

I can't possibly believe that anything other than a piss soaked lump of coal is all the dear citizen-civilians of this constitutional republiknikchik have to look forward this upcoming holiday season,... of course, someone,...

no, I wonder if any amount of fed fairie dust can save us,..., and, is that the total 'problem' here?

You can officially put me in the 'I Think There Will Be Mass __________ Within a "Year"' corner. I'm stocking up on popcorn.

I figure you Obama people believe he, the Noble Prize winner, is going to save us... and I sure believe that you believe that he's just a great guy period, or something close to that. I can't go on. go on

Where's batman really?? :'(

waaah :'(waaah

I haven't heard a word mitt has said here in the last 20 minutes,... I can't tell if he's actually loosened up ANY,... love his hair, he make a great leading actor type (except for the lack of actual acting skills (never mattered before)).

Can I just let it all out please?:::::

AHHHHHHHHHAHHHHHHHHHHH :o   AHHHHHHHHHHHH :o      AHHHHHHHHHHHH :o

AAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH :o AAHHHHH :o

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH :o

:'(It really just hit me what a joke the year 2020 sounds like. :'(

Good one. I was thinking 'Mass Arrests & Torture'! I like yours better. :P

Probably, any country I'd like wouldn't want me, hmm.

And to those people who say, 'Well, since you didn't vote, you can't complain', I say, pfffft, and, wah wah wah,... I'll see you in the bread line I'm sure ::)

either way

THAT'S IT!! THE NEW SLOGAN OF THIS CAMPAIGN:

'EITHER WAY 2012'

Thank you :-*, thank you all :-*,... yes, it's grrreat!! :P I love it.

And those are the retards who say that. Not voting for either gives you the right to complain about either. Not voting is a complaint itself.

Karl Henning

Not voting is inaction, and a type of inaction which historically favors the Republican candidate. So if you decide not to vote: the GOP thanks you.

Here's a question - why does the thread title have the word 'objective' in it? It seems anything but that.

Why? I hate 'em all. Any objective person can see that both candidates are bought & paid for. That IS the 'objectivity' here, isn't it?: that we CAN see through the veil of dog-and-pony/wag the dog.

Can't I objectively state as fact that all recent US presidents have immediately betrayed their base as soon as they're elected?
