Giving this Daphnis a try. I'm sure John can tell me if it's a good 'un!

Yes, Gielen's Daphnis is quite good or the best I can remember it was a good performance. It's been years since I've heard it.

Saw Elgar's mug (who, BTW, could use a Santa Hat  ;) ) and was inspired to hear Sinopoli's broad take on No.2.

I really enjoy Sinopoli's Elgar recordings, Greg. Masterful performances.

Listening to In the South. Fantastic! :D

It's the worst film from the Qatsi trilogy, but Glass' score is impressive. Very colorful instrumentations.

A new acquisition. Listening to Piano Concerto No. 1. Really great! Beautiful performance. Audio quality is also top-notch -- really warm with great instrument separation.

Continuing through the Barbirolli set of Elgar orchestral works, listening to the incredible Cello Concerto now. Du Pre was something else.

Happy LvB-B-Day to you, too!  :D

After all these years, the Kremer/Argerich duo is still my benchmark.  8)
I'll give this a spin later, as well as their equally impressive "Kreutzer" - and maybe more!
