Yes, entertaining and in good quality. Some of the tunes became nasty earworms, so often I played the disc.

Bach, for starters:
*995 is Bach's own transcription listed under the lute pieces, rather than 1012 in Hopkinson Smith's transcription.

A small correction: BWV 1011, not 2012.

FINZI: In Years Defaced (song Cycle)   5 song arrangements
Violin Concerto, Prelude, Romance
John Mark Ainsley, tenor     Tasmin Little, violin   City of London Sinfonia
Richard Hickox, cond.
a really screwed up booklet, some appears to be in Danish about songs by Jóns, and Danish/Engish texts for some. If you're paying full price check it.  I see an address for Chandos, may write them for a replacement of the booklet.  I probably could e-mail, but I think letters have more force.
RACHMANINOFF:  Monna Vanna (act 1 of a uncompleted opera), Piano Concerto no. 4  - 1st version
William Black, piano     Iceland Symphony Orchestra     Igor Buketoff, cond.

Fafner

All the national categorizing in the other thread made me want to listen to the most obligatory piece of Czech classical music:

Bedřich Smetana - Má Vlast
Česká filharmonie, Václav Talich (1954)

That is possibly the first ever Mahler I listened to, about 15 years ago. Great stuff!

EDIT:

Thread duty:

One more historical recording of the Czech Philharmonic Orchestra under Václav Talich:

DVORAK, A.: Symphony No. 6 / SUK, J.: Serenade in E flat major / Into a New Life
Czech Philharmonic Orchestra, Talich (1938)
