INDEED! Mine was dispatched yesterday from Presto classical. Much praise was heaped on this set and for so long it has been out of print.

Mine, too! Can't wait! I have heard so much about this set but have not heard a single note. THat will change soon!

So I decided to continue my [Holmboe] fetish...

I will be hot on yr heels before year's end.  I know almost none of these acquisitions, though I own and am crazy about the SYMPHONIC METAMORPHOSES disc from Bis.  I might even like it more than the symphonies, and those are already really fine.  You should post some impressions of these recordings, maybe to the composer thread, for posterity, as soon as you hear them.

Duty (if not pleasure):

Pierre Boulez: THE THREE PIANO SONATAS [Paavali Jumppanen] (DG 20/21)

I imagine it will come back into print next year, sigh.  Though I did find it cheap.

As if I don't have enough to apologise for on that thread already!  ;) Starting with being rude to the 13th symphony.  :-[

Psychedelia/paislies lining your collar?  What a fop!
I wish you'd post an impression of the Johnson when you finish it, esp. compared to its predecessors/rivals.

I apologize... usually my cravat covers it up.

Don't know how much comparison I can make, but shall report in one way or another.

An amazing price!. :)
Message to Naïve: if you guys actually want to sell CD's ,it seems a good idea to keep classics like this in print...and reissue, please reissue !!  :o
OK, that last bit sounded somewhat desperate  ;D But Naïve has a really bad track record in handling their back catalogue that actually contains lots of riches. ::)

Downloading from eclassical.com.  I'm still waiting on the download.  Must be coming by individually wrapped packets over pneumatic tube from Sweden.

Bis is kind of retrograde in that the the bit depth is 24, but they still record at 44100 Hz.  But not all the time.  Sometimes they do record 96 kHz.  They will even mix them on the same albums.

Ordered this, but like to invite some advice in this, weather its a good acquisition or not. And yes I like them on authentic instruments.

I only own the later works from this set, but they're great recordings. Worthy of a good table-pounding!

Thank you Paul. This box holds 10 CD'S, as far as I can see they recorded not more as what is on offer here.
I love the new avatar, she is so special to me!

So this might even break the table I presume?  ;D Thank you for the feedback, it helps to make my mind up.

One of the most easily recommended box sets of Haydn!

I love eClassical, but those downloads do take a long time. Also, new releases can be hard to navigate and they are often peculiarly chosen (there appear to be 2-3 random Naxos discs per month). But everything else about the site trumps other classical download sites - the timing-pricing correlation, the availability of high quality sound, the availability and ease of downloading back covers and PDFs, the daily sales on nice things with personal notes from the CEO.
