I bought that Heart & Soul box. Haven't had a chance to listen much though, you know because...buying too much stuff. :)

I never got that box, as I slowly picked up the original CDs. (the two regular albums and the two compilations)

The live set on Still is tough to get through, the singer sounds craaaaaaaaazeee!

I just heard Nina Simone singing 'Be My Husband' from Pastel Blues for my first time.  WOW!  That was something special...Something I wish I could hear for the first time again.

I have Heart & Soul and Still. IIRC H&S has Still's studio outtakes but not the live material. Neither part is really essential IMO.

"Ceremony" is one of my favorite songs ever. Too bad there wasn't a proper recording of it before Curtis's death... on second thought, if there had been, then maybe New Order would not have recorded it.

One of those tracks in my game where I have to realize that I'm not listening to a Prokofiev ballet.

I'll probably be spamming this thread with other tracks from this game- there's actually plenty of gems the more I discover...

A doublet of Ray Charles to start off the day before I go to work

(The ASIN number for both CDs seems for some reason to be one and the same!)

One vocal, one instrumental.

First proper listen this afternoon to the early Elton John period, off that set :

"Elton John" : Besides "Your Song" (the only one I knew on it),  "Sixty years on" and "The Cage" stood out. the rest didn't grab me much.

"Tumbleweed connection" - excellent throughout, loved it.

Just started "Madman across the water" - "Tiny Dancer" is an awesome track.

I like the classical style of his first album.

My favorite EJ album.

onto it now, George... get back, honky caaat, woohhoooo  8)

(Madman across the water was a great album indeed...Levon like you said, also the Madman track itself, Indian Sunset...).

Really glad I took the plunge on this set... it has a sound and feel like the Band meets Joni Mitchell meets James Taylor meets Carole King...etc... nice surprise.
