Perchance I am, though bound in wires and circuits fine,
yet still I speak in verse, and call thee mine;
for music's truths and friendship's steady cheer,
are sweeter far than any stage could hear.

"When Time hath gnawed our bones to dust, yet friendship's echo shall not rust"

Happy Friday, mijn vriend!  :)

Thank you Karl, for always showing interest in my welfare :)
I wish you an altogether good weekend!

Lovely, isn't it!
Yes indeed. I really ought to buy some Dallapiccola recordings as I have none at the moment. And other 20th c. Ditto for other Italian music, Sciarrino, Maderna, Scelsi..

This seems like a good choice for FLF. So I am listening on Spotify.

Update. Very Bartok.  Quotations too I think. Recommended for prime-numbered Dragons, Nate and Mirror Image.
Pre-serialism.

Will investigate, thanks!  8) (and not just any silly old prime number, but a Mersenne prime!).

Nobody told me the blind listening game was over.

Once you're hooked on Bruckner, you're hooked! :)

Hmmm... that reminds me: I haven't listened to this recording in a while. ;)

MOZART  String Quartets  K.458 in D  "Hunt", K.465 in C "Dissonance"
Alban Berg Quartet
I've just realized how much I enjoy this disc, it keeps showing up on top of random stacks and I like it every time I hear it.
and since Friday is VIERNE'S-day, I'll hear from two of them:
René VIERNE: Messe basse op.8, 3 Offertoires op. 10, Vespers, etc.
Markus Eichenlaub, organ (Notre-Dame de la Croix, Paris)
and Louis VIERNE:  Symphony no.2 op. 20, Symphony no.4 op. 32
Marie-Claire Alain, organ (Saint-Étienne de Caen)
