As reported elsewhere, this arrived a week or so ago . . . .

A treasure trove of incredible performances. Enjoy, Karl!

Congratulations! The Lenny boxes are quickly becoming my favorite jumbo boxes ever.

Received from Amazon.de :

Vivarte Box (I had resisted until then because I had too many things from it already, but 40€...)

Haydn/Abbado (was a planned purchase anyway)

Also went to Melomania (which must be the best classical music thrift shop in the world), and found two precious things I coveted for a long time, for a few euros:

Mendelssohn Quartets / Artis

Mahler 7, 9 & Lied von der Erde / Rosbaud (as surprising as that sounds, I missed these on CD)

Florestan

Recently added to my library, though not purchases in the technical sense.

Schutz is a strong contender for the greatest composer of religious music ever, together with Palestrina and JS Bach.

No competition here: simply the best Italian keyboard composer (prior to Scarlatti, that is).

O, yes both boxes are top of the bill. Congrats.
Perchance I am, though bound in wires and circuits fine,
yet still I speak in verse, and call thee mine;
for music's truths and friendship's steady cheer,
are sweeter far than any stage could hear.

I've always had a soft spot for the music of Reynaldo Hahn, so finally went for this:

I also had a 20% off coupon on JPC ;D

Festetics + Messiaen/Cambreling + 3 of the older Arcana releases (it used to be my favourite label, back when Michel Bernstein managed it from my native city and released a couple gems every year).

Bought this late last night:

I gave $5 (plus shipping) for this recording and at this price it was practically a giveaway.

I finally broke down and just bought this:

Being a Scelsi fan, I definitely needed this and hearing positive comments from Karl and North Star (Karlo), I just had to buy it.

Did not know you could do this.

Hmm. I've made the charts. No.89.

Arrived today from Germany. Ahh, so many duplications, but at least the DG originals will be in one spot, right? Right? We always need extra recordings of the war horses? They wear out! Right?
Errr, I couldn't resist (CDCDCD)....  >:D :'( >:D :'( >:D

I am considering considering it. I have all the music many times but some of those recordings are pretty nice ...

I have about half the box...just enough to mean I won't get it unless it goes even cheaper.  But all of them are, if not great, well known enough to make the box a solid investment in quality.

The new erato

Que's post prompted me to order one of the few Cincquecento discs I don't own; they are superb in everything they do,

Have you bought the newest one, then, Que? I only have the Richafort myself (so far..)
