This evening from Arkivmusic, two new releases

Made easy by the fact I had nothing from Mr.Pogo until now.

Green Destiny

As expected I picked up Bogey's recommendation - thank you very much! :). Got the Messiaen set as well.
Slight rant - I do not understand the pricing of Digital music at all - IMO it should always be cheaper than getting a physical copy of the music but as we all know that is often not the case. I was able to get the Messiaen box digitally for about 1/3 of the price of the Discs while the Bach I had to buy the box as the digital version was $30 more expensive ???:

Pogorelich's Tchaikovsky 1 is dynamite! If you're looking for a place to start I'd say start there.

Veit Bach-a baker who found his greatest pleasure in a little cittern which he took with him even into the mill and played while the grinding was going on. In this way he had a chance to have the rhythm drilled into him. And this was the beginning of a musical inclination in his descendants. JS Bach

I am too orderly for that.  I usually start at CD1 and work my way through to the last one in sequence.

Mondrian-meets-Halloween. The album includes the "Monster Mash" variations in C Minor.
It's all good...

Well done! I bet you'd like the Ligeti Etudes. They are quite accessible -- some not far from those of Debussy. Messiaen's Et Exspecto Resurrectionem Mortuorum is one of the most powerful pieces of music I know, too. If you're a Mahler fan, give a listen to the 3rd movement of the Berio Sinfonia.
Beethoven's Op. 133 -- A fugue so bad that even Beethoven himself called it "Grosse".

The similarity must be a mere coincidence. After all, Pierre is so...original  ::)

I would start with her Orchestral music, closely followed by her Chamber music. Then if you like it the CD with songs.
Currently all but one CD, are budget price at JPC de.
Enjoy

Thanks for the advices Harry.   0:)
Spatial distortion is a serious problem deteriorating headphone listening.
Crossfeeders reduce spatial distortion and make the sound more natural
and less tiresome in headphone listening.

Thanks Nate! I definitely need to take the blue Ligeti pill (or is it the red one?) very, very soon.....     0:)

Haha - I find Milhaud a bit hit and miss sometimes which is why I didn't purchase this box sooner. Im hoping theres some good stuff in here.
One of the other members recommended the work Le boeuf sur le toit to me - this is a pretty good starting point if youre interested in Milhaud I think :)
