It was released in Europe 30 March although it still hasn't shown up, as a CD, at Amazon DE (maybe they sold out so quickly I missed it). Anyway, I ordered mine from the UK.

One of the highlights of a highlight-rich set. 

Maybe consider the 1960 Death and Transfiguration after that.  Stupendously great.  If you don't like the work, Monteux can change your mind.

This looked like a good disc with some fascinating, seldom-heard works. Thomson's Filling Station and Kurka's Symphony No. 2 are of particular interest to me. I'm always on the lookout for mid-20th Century tonal American composers.

Thumbs up. A very nice disc. Especially the Kurka. I am curious to hear your reactions.

I have not heard it but it was recommended to me by someone whose taste I trust. Let me know what you think after your sampling.

I have the Concerto Köln version of the Wilms symphonies 6 and 7. Great stuff.  What label is the Halstead on, and how does it compare in the one symphony that overlaps ?
