A desert island pick for sure.

Indeed. Makes a cloudy day sunny and a sunny day yet sunnier.  :)

Easily one of my best purchases so far this year.

Stravinsky: Le Sacre Du Printemps - Bernstein/NYP

Another gift from my lovely ex. And in this performance Bernstein gets right to it in making the music fly. Wonderful.
"You overestimate my power of attraction," he told her. "No, I don't," she replied sharply, "and neither do you".

Now:

Listening to Symphony No. 4 yet again. Incredibly moving work. Elegiac, yet uplifting in feeling and seems to me to be some kind of remembrance of the past. Goodness gracious, I love this symphony.

As you should! Glad there's some love for Diamond on this forum!

A favorite of mine I haven't listened to in a while :

Nice one, as is the companion recording, Figure Humaine, although, this recording is the one I have heard most recently:

Got to love the Finnish National Broadcasting Company. They ought to have a Youtube channel for storing the concerto recordings, or just store all them on their site (Yle Areena) permanently, though. And the orchestra's versatility is admirable too - from the Downland, Haydn. Mozart's String Quintet and Berlioz to Shostakovich, Bartók and Penderecki, and a hefty dose of contemporary music, both Finnish and not. (all the content linked should be internationally available, for the time being)

I can´t imagine there was a time when I couldn´t stand the sound of the harpsichord... To hear the Gates of Heaven opening and to cover my ears in horror... Miserere mei, Deus, secundum magnam misericordiam tuam!:D

One of my favorite Ravel works.

The first Ravel chamber work I got to know well!

 No, not even remotely. First, it should be spelled 'kiloa taulukko' - and second, it means 'of a kilogram a chart (table)'

. . . it means 'of a kilogram a chart (table)'

So the error hinged on the dual meaning in English of pounds!  Oh, the shortcomings of automated translation  8)

And of the dual meaning of table in English. Not to mention the 'translation' of pound into kilogram. . .
