Which set of Nielsen piano music?

I already have Martin Roscoe on Hyperion, but am not totally satisfied with it.

The Kurtags play Jatetok on ECM. I already have an earlier recording of them doing their own music in 1973.

This is a wonderful CD. All the ECM recordings of Kurtag's music are outstanding, I think.

As  of now it is on my shopping list!!  :)

Till now I have been holding out, hoping for a complete set.

I love the (Dutch) Egidius Quartet  and the Amazon reviews of the separate  issues have been raving....

I like the name of his label, but no. The flute doesn't interest me much.

Except for the Badineri movement from one of he Bach suites, and the original version of prokofiev's sonata better known for violin, I'm hard pressed for works withe the flute in a solo role that I enjoy (neither Debussy's or Varese's solo works for flute gives me much enjoyment, though the flute in the Faun is nice).

It's nice to be able to draw the line somewhere.

Thanks for finding it in Germany -- much cheaper than in the UK -- and at that price I'll take a punt. You know the Art of Fugue (which is pretty characterful) and just recently I was really impressed by what he does with Schoenberg's Variations on a Recitative.

I have that Zacher disc but I don't remember enough about it to comment. It actually must be his second recording because he apparently prepared the arrangements already in 1968 and there is a recording mentioned in a book I have that was published in the late 1970s. But I have never encountered the first one and I do not think there would be many differences.

A must have (along with Part II which is only a bit more expensive but has 20cds) if you like the flute. Probably my favorite flutist along with Julius Baker.

Is anyone familiar with this? Avaialble only form Arkiv, AFAIK:

Cole Porter's Within the quota was apparently the first full "jazz ballet", produced by the Ballets Suédois in 1923 (the première took place on the same night as Milhaud's La Création du Monde). The orchestration is by no less than Charles Koechlin.

Must be interesting....

Haydn - London Symphonies w/ Kuijken & La Petite Bande - I've been looking at this Japanese offering for years hoping that it would be re-released elsewhere at a decent price - now the package is available from Japan for $35 on Amazon MP + $4 S/H - my questions are:  1) Are these 'real' CDs vs. CD-R; and 2) Are the liner notes (if available) in Japanese only?  Thanks for any comments - Dave :)
