Assuming it's true, since when it is a good CD cover supposed to be realistic?

No it does not. It is the good bit I don't agree with.
You must have a very good opinion of yourself to write a symphony - John Ireland.

I opened the door people rushed through and I was left holding the knob - Bo Diddley.

Packaging-wise, that's impressively sloppy.

Marta Argerich? (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Martha_Argerich)

Yeah, that too.  ::)

And this one: Ashkenazy plays « two valses », including the « Minute Valse ». It looks like they couldn't make up their mind between French and English  ;D.

And I disagree with your disagreement, so let's agree to disagree and remain friends.  :-*
There is no theory. You have only to listen. Pleasure is the law. — Claude Debussy

Van Cliburn International Piano Competition

This had to be inspired by the artwork of Terminal Cheesecake's Pearlesque Kings Of The Jewmost album ;).

It is music to listen to while squibbing anti-histamine drops in your eyes :'(.

For the record, I don't find this bad, just a bit bizarre.

A very graphic representation of the expression 'off the top of my head'...

The recording is now available in the Sony Black Composers box (I may not be remembering the set's official title correctly).  It's rather good.  Nunes Garcia was an ordained priest, btw, hence the clothing in the image.

Glad I'm not the only one enjoying this box. Some of the other art is akin to this: more weird than bad.

I hadn't heard of the Brazilian composer before now (did a quick google search).  Wasn't that a '70's album cover?  From what I've seen, those could be (tended to be?) quite bizarre!

Happy to check out his music...will try youtube and/or library.  Long day today so will read more about him tomorrow.

Best,

PD

This is ugly on every level possible, from the font to the color scheme to the weird background.

This just confuses me. What does a tangle of limbs have to do with Vietnam-era modernist symphonies again?
"l do not consider my music as atonal, but rather as non-tonal. I feel the unity of all keys. Atonal music by modern composers admits of no key at all, no feeling of any definite center." - Arnold Schoenberg

I wonder if Discogs have a release with different artwork I could use for the files on my music players?
