LARGE IMAGE!

Yes, I didn't have time to shrink it (I was too lazy). Sorry!   :'(

Thanks for quoting the LARGE IMAGE to take up even MORE space!   >:D

Toshio Hosokawa: ORCHESTRAL WORKS 1 [Jun Markl & Royal Scottish] (Naxos)
due ~25 March 14 (USA)

I glanced at several TH orchestral music recordings and it looks like these pieces might not overlap with those recordings, even the two SOLO CONCERTOS discs on Neos, which I have not heard.
I don't know his discography very well, but this disc seems to be three ~concertos.

I am psyched about that Bach/Suzuki.  Here's hoping there will be a Euro-American/international edition soon enough.

I've not seen mention of this:

[asin]B00IKVTFN4[/asin]
Harrison Birtwistle: CHAMBER MUSIC [Lisa Batiashvili, Till Fellner et al] (ECM)

USA release due ~29 april 2014

I see no contents listing at Amazons US/UK nor at the label website.

Also I see that Helena Tulve has a new ECM disc just out.  Mainly works for voices + instruments, including one piece for "for voices and early music consort".

[asin]B00CE27GCW[/asin]

As with her last ECM disc, Arianna Savall participates; I cherish the thought of some impulse purchases based on the Savall family name.  Though the transition there is not near as abrupt as some impulse buys based on the name "Chris Brown".

Knew that this was coming. Of course, I don't want this now, having scoured out the first 40 discs in the limited edition box sets of 10. I'm only up to disc 18, for gawd's sake...

...I'll worry about how to find discs 41-55 later!

That Suzuki set at over a $1000 (105,000 yen) is just too expensive for me.

That does seem an excessive price per disc (for 55 discs). I would hope that when it becomes available in other countries the price is less.

The box sets of 10 discs each that I have for the series were advertised as '10 discs for the price of 3'. So at that rate the cost of the complete series would be... the same as 16.5 full-price discs.  That doesn't equate to over a thousand dollars! It would be half of that, or less.

Those fabulous boxes were CD. These are SACD. We will see cheaper things eventually.

I will bite if it comes down to $250 (I somehow hope it won't as I already have two cycles). I only have a couple of discs from this series though, and I'm a sucker for Bach cantatas.

Coming in May, four Abbado box sets.  A Vienna Mahler 9 reissue is also coming.

Well, no. The whole of the 4th box, and some of the 3rd box, were SACD too because that's how the recordings have been released from about volume 27 or 28.

My situation too.
