Very good. I wish you much enjoyment, sir.

Thanks Dave, I will! :)

How many stamps should I put on this enormous crate Paul? ;D

Well, let me put it this way. You will need lots of stamps for the weight of the stamps alone!
Do what I must do, and let what must happen happen.

I am building up a new system beginning with the Sentinels from Avalon

Those loudspeakers look like an old woman with a headscarf.  ;D
Spatial distortion is a serious problem deteriorating headphone listening.
Crossfeeders reduce spatial distortion and make the sound more natural
and less tiresome in headphone listening.

Odin from Nord ost

All that bling, and it still uses single-ended connections?

And what was wrong with the old stereo thread?  Too downscale?

If the speakers don't hover and shoot lasers like Martian spacecraft, then I'm not interested.

... Presumably they don't sound like that.

We're all totally envious, Harry.  Please enjoy your new stuff.  :D

All I asked for were some frickin' sharks with laser beams on their heads!

Outstanding, Harry.   :)

why do you always use stock photos for these acquisitions of yours?

Looks superb, Harry. Congratulations!

I must admit that I do get the Star Wars Imperial March in my head every time I see a picture of Avalon Sentinels. I suppose I have a weird imagination.

Addendum: I'm glad to see that you use Pass Labs. I Norway they push Edge electronics with Avalon. Edge is to me an absolute no no after the G CD scandal.
I love music. Sadly, I'm an audiophile too.

Thanks Valentino, The Avalon where not in stock, so I have to wait a little.
I already use the Pass X 250 , with a pre from them also.
And they drive my Avalons Ceramique in a spectacular way.

Wow, the Sentinels are $85k.  There are more expensive speakers, though.  The MBL 101 X-Tremes are $199k.  However, the Revel Salon2s, often used as a reference by Stereophile and TAS are "only" $22k.  John Atkinson says, "With the Ultima Salon2, Revel's design team has taken the conventional concept of a moving-coil box loudspeaker to the limit of what is currently possible."  So maybe the Sentinels are beyond the limit of the possible.

The Pass Labs stuff has very good looks.

I have no idea.

By the way, I just picked up a pair of these for my tool shed system.  I like to listen to Couperin harpsichord music while cleaning my garden tools.

It looks a little like slowly cruising in an expensive dealership car.

On audio forums this happens all the time, people quote unquote buying 50k equipment on a monthly basis.

Dave - yes, I saw the price on those speakers yesterday while reviewing this thread - boy, Harry could have REALLY expanded his CD collection by buying a much less expensive set of speakers; but then, he might have to purchase a BIGGER house -  ;) ;D
