Hey!  I know that lady!  Wellllllll, not personally, but she's still one of my favorites!

One of my favorites too (well, obviously  :) )  I've heard her live more than any other soloist. I was in the audience at Severance when she played the Walton with Previn conducting the Cleveland in 1972 (Sir William was in the audience too).

You're like a crazy cat lady, only with CDs.

At least CDs won't eat me after I die  :D

...which would explain "The Cat"... :P

...and holy cow, that's quite a collection you have there! You seem to listen to pretty much everything, so I guess it doesn't surprise me. I hope to have a collection of scores like that one day.

I don't seem to be batting too highly in this latest round of BuyItNow! The compare performances I've been getting lately have all been falling to incumbents, and I'm having to reevaluate them, and scratching my head. I've been picking the wrong violinist for weeks now!!haha :'(

Thankfully most everything has been cheap, but, of course, the FullPrice I got turned out to be... eh. Buying the wrong stuff can really put a crimp in your CDCDCD I tell ya!

Do you also burn YouTube mp3 files to CDs and print cover art? :P

No... And I've even bought some books (real ones) that are in public domain.

Well, that's part of the problem. One non-PD score (of many) that I reallllllly want is "Turangalila-Symphonie". It's $200.

There's also the Online Books page hosted by UPenn.  I don't remember seeing scores there, but their listings would probably be of use in other respects.

I haven't investigated Amazon Kindle,  B&N Nook,  or Google Books, but they may have some things of interest as well.

I guess that's why mine is so strong--I like everything I got so much.  I'm at that happy but unstable place right now--I feel like I have everything I want, and no fear that anything tasty out there might suddenly go oop.  ;D ;D
It's all good...

UPDATE

Mmmm,... my CDCDCD hasn't apparently finished Buying, but I'm all out of "food" (meaning, 'inspiration'). I don't want to just Buuuy stuff, but the desire to discover SOMETHING (other than a tick, let's say) is very strong. I got myself into a Prokofiev/Shostakovich tizzy,- and it's hard to shake, haha!! I'm "satisfied" at the moment, but I'm not. If you see me reaching for Schumann or something, you'll know that I lost the battle!

Not just unstable, but downright freakin' dangerous! Not sure what your personal interests are, but whenever I reach that point with music, I turn to books. In music history, that's where the real money is... :(

I know! Printed stuff seems to be so much more expensive than audio CDs, even though it is hard to compare "what you are getting for your money". There is always that $400 book about the Haydn symphonies, or the c.a. $2500 set of scores for Messiaen's opera "St. Francis d'Assisi" ??? ??? ??? (you have to buy each act separately for around $500).

That 5 volume set of Landon's 'Chronicle & Works' was selling for as much as $800/volume when I first started shopping it. I got so lucky!  In comparison, this true rarity:

was selling for $110 and I talked the seller down to $65!  That didn't work on the books... :-\
