I prefer vocal works for the most part, but I do try to explore all genres. I would suppose that the largest part of my modest collection is vocal works (opera, cantata, madrigal, oratorio, lieder, etc.), followed by Bruckner (whose symphonies are really very lyrical works, so he fits right in to that idiom ;)), then other symphonic works and concertos, and chamber works ending finally with a handful of solo instrumental recordings...

I agree with Marvin that the human voice is a unique instrument; it is quite versatile, difficult to master and no two sound alike.

Opera, Symphonic and Concertos, in that order.

Symphonies mostly for me, then Vocal (oratorios, cantatas, masses), then Vocal (lieder).

Really struggling with Piano (only exceptions are Satie and Goldberg variations) and Chamber music...  :-\

Chamber instrumental. In particular string quartets

Tancata

Vocal (Oratorio/Cantata), Vocal (Opera), Symphonic. No problems with any of them, though. It's usually the composer and not the form which influences most whether I like something or not.

Synthetic Renaissance vocal music on period instruments .........

Orchestral. ;D So Symphonic, Concertos with orchestra, and nowdays I would say Vocal (oratorio, cantata). Where you have the whole orchestra plus a singer or two and maybe choir also. Chamber would come next, string quartets, mixes of woodwinds/strings, and chamber with voices (modern/contemporary).
