. . . plus all of those great holidays that they get off for. :)

Yes, even more than at a bank : )

Got into contact with HR at the Orlando branch, and she said to call back in two weeks. I probably should have told her my name, if she were able to remember. It was a pleasant conversation, anyways.

It's an awesome library, too- my favorite by far. I got so many rare classical CDs that most people on this forum have never listened to, and that's just a small part of it. I always loved being there when I was a kid- it's like the opposite of when I had to go to hardware stores.  ::)

Hours are: 20-32 a week. They adjust, so I'm not sure if that will conflict, but I'll figure that out later. No insurance, though, so I'll have to teach guitar lessons on the side so I can pay for private health insurance- my master plan.  8)

If my friend can transfer probation to the new area, I'll be glad to. He keeps on saying how he wants to put a gun to his head just thinking about being stuck in this area. I'll probably find out tomorrow or so if he can transfer.

That's quite a presumptuous statement to make. What are these "rare" classical CDs you speak of?

karlhenning

Cut Greg some slack, MI, he did say "most." It may be presumptuous of you to throw the stone into his garden ; )

Okay, maybe not "many." But a couple, yes.

After mentioning the Hammerth Percussion Concerto which is on this one for so long, I don't think anyone else on this forum has listened to this one (not even Bruce):

There was also another one- Prokofiev's 5th (I think Ashkenazy maybe?) mixed with a recording of Dreams. Someone here said they had listened to it (probably Bruce again) and that it was a rare OOP recording.

Holy cow Greg you're like the Gurn of modernism! :D

LOL
I wouldn't consider myself that, since my favorite time period is more like early 20th century.
I think "someguy" is the Gurn of modernism, though!  8)

Really? From what I've read here, he seems pretty normal. Multiple personalities depending on the forum, maybe?  :D

Well he's normal... merely assertive in defense of modernism, especially since that forum is overrun with romantics. :D

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of wubba-wubba, I shall fear no Rott . . . .

There's a good one! Who needs a job as long as we can share pics of Great Percussion CDs on GMG? We live like kings!! Bring me more grapes!!

btw- the only reason The Great Eye have not listened to that one yet is because it costs MONEY!! However, it has been in my heart for over a year, so there! :-* How's the Psappha on that one?,... I'll give you seven bucks for it!! :o

ok ok,... don't freak out!! ;) :P haha

seriously, how's the Psappha?

As far as a job goes,... oh, and I see you live in Orlando (yeeeeeeeeeeekkkkkkkkkkkk,... my dad lives there,... uh, nice place ::)),... do ya speak spanish, son? Oh, I'm sorry, you're white, male, and under forty,...hmm,... looks like you don't GET a job!! I could lead you to some Great Depressing Websites,...take my advice, move in with your mom and volunteer (one NEEDS to do sooomething). "They' who control the money want everyone empowered but you,... sorry. :'(

Nobody please yell at me,... I'm not the one destroying whole sectors of economy here,... and then rebuilding them for those who will take (much) less pay.

Hey, the Banksters are doin' Great!! Take more of our money to give to the never ending interest,... oh, that's novel! Why not just stop... uh oh, I better not 'criticize' any facet of the overlord, or I may get a visit from the PC Police (not really out of the question any more). Ah, the smell of Constituant Rape in the morning.

Greg, for some reason, now, one appears to MUST HAVE (already) a job in order to get one. Get one shift anywhere, and then someone else will be more apt to hire you. I'm hanging on by one shift a week right now,... and, no, I'm not looking.

Maybe it's time to take that guitar off the 'back burner' and see if IT can make you @ $300 a week. Then you understand why even Rock Stars say what they do is 'just a job' (albeit,... one they LOOOVE).

Hey, you can always smoke pot for a test group for cash, haha!!

juuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuus kiddin' ;) ;D

ah, I could vomit on for hours on This Post. I'll spare you. 8)

How about cutting me some slack, Karl? Why is it every time I question somebody's comments, you come surging through the thread like some arbiter of justice? Greg is a grown-up, he can fight for himself (not that I'm in any way trying to start something with the fellow).

If you pm me your e-mail address, I'll upload all the tracks of the CD onto mediafire and give you a link.  :)

Well, I don't live in Orlando now, but I want to move to an area around there. This is mainly because I've always liked Orlando (well, the only city I'm actually familiar with, so maybe that's why lol), and because I won't have to drive an hour and a half to the nearest university or an hour to the nearest community college that actually has good classes.

I live in the land of retired rednecks- nothing but hospitals and bars around here. It's just not good for young people, and everyone knows this.

With the guitar lessons, $300/week would be nice. To get everything (private health insurance, own apartment, come out on top $100/month, etc.) I'd need $1300/month. If I could ever get enough students to make that much money, that'd be awesome, but of course, moving there, I'd need a job at first instead of a gamble.

Then . . . why use the word fight, eh?

BTW, I could probably pull 50 discs from my shelf which most people on GMG haven't heard.  Want to contest it?  What would "disprove" my claim?  The fact that, perhaps, you've heard it?

. . . so why contest Greg's statement, after all?

What business is it of yours that I question somebody anyway? I wasn't trying to get into a fight with Greg, but merely pointing out that his comment was presumptuous, which I still believe it was. It doesn't matter if he said most or not, this doesn't have anything to do with the underlying point within the statement.

You still never answered my initial question to you, why is it each time I question somebody's post, you come surging through the thread like some arbiter of justice?

Umm.... I don't see what the big deal is. Is what I said really that important?  ??? :D

I have that one (in the Decca 2-CD issue), and I'm probably not the only one. It doesn't get talked about much, but it is good.

Not at all.  It was just an uninformed comment, and you did take it back.

Don't worry about it, Greg. My apologies. I've got my x-ray googles on again where I'm trying to see through a sentence and not realizing that it doesn't mean anything other than what it states. :D
