This seems appropriate enough:

Quote from: Der lächelnde Schatten on February 04, 2025, 10:22:32 AMI've decided on doing something on GMG, which I haven't really done in the past and that is ignore those people who have been hateful or completely disrespectful to me in the past.

Now, I'm going to enjoy my time on GMG.

I note that one of your early posts has been to say "long time no see" to someone, most likely based on recognising their user name.

This is a perfect illustration of why it's helpful to not chop and change yours so often. You know who they are. Do THEY know who YOU are?

Assuming I know who you are...

Maybe let's just rename this thread the John Show. The new username as a transparent attempt at anonymity is just one of the recurring tropes.

It's not about anonymity, it is about the tiny endorphin rush of seeing us jump through the hoop of guessing it's him again.

If you are indeed "done with me", then I advise you to ignore my posts and stop talking about me.

To @Madiel, don't worry I'm not going to change my username again. I promise this time! ;D And to the point you made, you're right, I need to stop deleting my account.

I have a feeling this time around will be much better as I have slowly been finding a lot of peace within myself and have finally been able to let go of some things that were weighing down my mind.

Another point of serenity has been my newfound love for the music of Schubert. I mean this has been a major breakthrough that I never thought would've happened. I certainly wouldn't have been saying this 15 years ago.

I'm not sure where to post this, but @Florestan, your mailbox is full.

@Karl Henning  Let it go.  A lot of us care about you here.  Life is too short.  Ignore those who don't care or are struggling with health issues.

Best wishes,

Der lächelnde Schatten

I'm not sure where to put this, so I'm just going to put here: today I received some rather unfortunate news from the doctor: I have Bell's palsy. The doctor assured me that this condition will go away on its own, but I have been prescribed some steroid pills and must take these over the course of a week or so. Anyway, other than this, my health seems to be 'okay' for the moment.

This came about from late Saturday night into Sunday morning, I was brushing my teeth and all of sudden, the right-side of my face changed --- pain behind my ear, numbness in jaw and an eye that will not blink. The whole of my right-side is, to be frank, f****** messed up.

I just thought I would share this with you all and tell you that I'm 'okay' and will hopefully make a speedy recovery.

Thank you for sharing. I'm sorry to hear about your diagnosis. Hopefully, not too serious, as you say, and a full, fast recovery.
