Agree on all accounts. Also enjoyed this one when it was initially broadcast (though her dress here is somewhat problematic as far as paying attention goes ...):

I only saw the dress and the content, music and orchestra were irrelevant.
One word for it " Smashing" .
Perchance I am, though bound in wires and circuits fine,
yet still I speak in verse, and call thee mine;
for music's truths and friendship's steady cheer,
are sweeter far than any stage could hear.

Now:

Listening to En Saga (original version), Op. 9. Almost a completely different work than the final version. Lots of textural/atmospheric sections that didn't make the cut. I love both versions of course. ;)

I think all in all, comparing it with some other sets, that Stella did a good job, it certainly belongs in anyones consideration, when venturing into the realm of Buxtehude's organ music.

For what it is worth, I consider this twofar CD essential. As an extra on the recordings you might already have.
I know that this composer is not held in great esteem, he should, but is not, this recording gets nevertheless a firm recommendation from me.

Siegbert Rampe plays Es ist das Heyl uns kommen her and O Lux Beata Trinitas by Matthias Weckmann.  It is a really magnificent organ (Scherer Tangermünde.) Rampe communicated commitment and inspiration. The music is a summit of civilization.

I think Nate would like this. Some resemblance to Belmont's Chamber Symphony. More emphatic and lively, but parts have a similar feel.

I had no idea he thought so highly of Weckmann!
