One good purchase deserves another? ;)
If I find I love these boxes so much I find myself dying for more of the same, I'll come back to your suggestion.

Thanks for the comments approving my purchase.  It seems that, according to this informal GMG consensus, I needn't fear buyer's remorse.  They aren't set to ship until the second half of May, so I've a long wait before I get these babies in my hot hands :'(  I'm sure I'll be a happy camper when the time comes.
And nice haul for you, too, Moonfish!
It's all good...

"This 50 CD set contains 11 operas by Wagner rerecorded in digital Audio.
What the heck does rerecorded mean? I've never heard of the term. These are analogue recordings digitized on to CD format.

I have this 50 cd Wagner box and can confirm it is worth every dollar spent for it. The Walküre is searingly intense.

I thought I had more from Naxos's Barber series than  I really do, and I may have some of the Britten box, but not enough of it.

O, yes I most definitively am.
I am very interested what you may find of the Torres, since I did not order it.

Well, I am not Que, but I found the Torres well played on an interesting organ, but alas the music is unmemorable.

That was my impression too, when I heard the samples, interesting but not lasting if it comes to the music.
Thank you Premont.

I bought today Naxos' Finnish Einojuhani Rautavaara 3 CD box for 7 euros. Rautavaara lived for years near me, but these are my first Rautavaara CDs.

Disc 1 contains Symphony no 3, Lintukoto and Apotheosis
Disc 2 contains ...
Spatial distortion is a serious problem deteriorating headphone listening.
Crossfeeders reduce spatial distortion and make the sound more natural
and less tiresome in headphone listening.

Very nice. I have to give this set a listen myself.

Thread duty -

Just bought:

SonicMan46

Well, some discussion in a rejuvenated Haydn thread on his piano sonatas prompted the purchase below - the Beethoven was on my 'wish list', so simply  'pulled the trigger' - both from an Amazon MP seller - new packages for about $60 total - Dave :)

The Haydn set is a no brainer, its very good in my opinion.
