Does anybody know what is the name of that building on the cover? I think it's in Vienna.

The Haydn set is a no brainer, its very good in my opinion.

Hi Harry - thanks for your support - recommended by Sanantonio in the Haydn thread mentioned; 9/10 5* ratings on Amazon, except for a 3*listing by the usual contrarian reviewer (Bernard...) - and a brief but excellent review on AllMusic - expecting to enjoy greatly.  Dave :)

Indeed, it's in Vienna: the Karlskirche (Saint Charles church). http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Karlskirche

Cheers,

Artem

It's such a wonderful place and the space is beautiful around it. I stumbled upon it late night of the day of my first visit to Vienna and it was almost magical. Sorry for diverting the thread in a wrong direction.

Well, some discussion in a rejuvenated Haydn thread on his piano sonatas prompted the purchase below - the Beethoven was on my 'wish list', so simply  'pulled the trigger' - both from an Amazon MP seller - new packages for about $60 total - Dave :)

I didn't know they had those budget Eloquence CD's in multi-disc box sets. Are they in a clam shell style? Are there others besides the Beethoven?

Nice tip as I have a few days in Vienna this summer.

No, but I would have easily done that, if I knew you were considering it. :)

Hi Chris - cannot answer your question, but would think just a single box w/ the discs in paper sleeves of some type - others who own the set hopefully will respond to your question.  In checking @ Amazon, the following Search Results appears using 'Decca Eloquence' - not sure if that is what you want to know?

Hi Karl - thanks for the 'thumbs up' on both sets!  I expect to enjoy - Dave :)

Cardboard boxes with the individual discs in quite sturdy cardboard sleeves.

.

That looks great, Moonfish! I'm not really that much into music of the middle ages, but have owned the "Troubadours" album--CDs 4&5 of that box--for many year (first on LP and now on CD) and find it really enjoyable...

Good to know, Dave! I listened to the first album ("Dante") last night and found it very alluring.  Sequentia is a very interesting ensemble.
