I am not a US citizen,  but I am convinced that Donald Trump is the perfect man to finish what George Bush started by setting the world ablaze: bring down the global power of the Western democracies.

It's gonna be GREAT!  >:D

I am a US citizen but did not vote for El Tupé.  I'm not convinced he will have a major impact on the greatness of the US one way or the other.  Of course, definitions of greatness vary widely.

US citizen, didn't vote for him, waiting for any sign of greatness in case he accidentally improves America.

So depending on how the President defines it . . . .

Why don't El Tupe none-voters get to distinguish between great or not great?

Why El Tupé is unpopular with GMG music lovers.  Here are his judgment on masterpieces of the repertoire.  Source classical fm.

My favorite "Trump" Twitter account is this one:

So now you tell us! Er - "great"! Yes, definitions of greatness are probably as many as there are people to have them and, rather as with Brexit in UK, the only thing certain now in US is uncertainty; that said, uncertainty probably does not make for what would be the majority definition of greatness...

I'm not a US citizen, but as a child vacationed there often, later my parents lived in NYC for several years, I myself went to business school in Chicago, and my two children are attending university in Indiana and Los Angeles, respectively. So, I feel very close in many ways to the US.

I think it's too soon to assess if America is headed towards "greatness" (whatever that may mean) again, but am very concerned about the things I'm seeing in these first days of the new presidency.

Florestan

I am not a US citizen and as such I'm particularly worried about Trump's ideas regarding NATO and Russia.

Still, I'm confident that the US constitutional framework and the checks-and-balances system are strong enough to resist any authoritarian shock and powerful enough to effectively take all necessary actions, should Trump & Co. transgress the constitutionally prescribed limits of their power. In this respect, I think that in the realm of domestic policy the damage, if any, will be limited and reversible.

I'm less optimistic regarding foreign policy, where, at least theoretically, he has far more leeway and could wreak considerably greater havoc.

Bottom line, I think that the true test of America's greatness is Trump's presidency itself.
