Yes! And there is so much more to it than just the shower scene.

And gotta love the Golden Gate Bridge views from Vertigo.

The second trailer for Gravity came to my attention this morning.  Looks like it may be enjoyable.  Would have been better had the film been made prior to the demise of the shuttle program, but whatchagonnado?

Well, still trying to 'pare down' my 'too see' movie list - streamed last night w/ reluctance and available for a while:

Admission (2013) w/ Tina Fey & Paul Rudd - short beginning synopsis quoted below; mediocre review in our local paper earlier this year; only 38% on Rotten Tomatoes from both critics & public; 3* (5.5/10) on IMDB; and 3* on Amazon - SO, why OH why watch this film which made it quickly to our local cable provider - guess that I like Tina Fey - and the film did hold our interest (Susan even stuck around to the end) - my rating would be about 3+* (maybe a 6 or 6.5/10) - neutral about a recommendation on this one - Dave :)

QuoteTina Fey and Paul Rudd are paired for the first time on-screen in Admission, the new comedy/drama directed by Academy Award nominee Paul Weitz (About a Boy, In Good Company), about the surprising detours we encounter on the road to happiness. Every spring, high school seniors anxiously await letters of college admission that will affirm and encourage their potential. At Princeton University, admissions officer Portia Nathan (Tina Fey) is a gatekeeper evaluating thousands ...

The leading documentary of the 21st century brings us an accurate portrayal of the elections in Iraq from multiple perspectives. A really brave documentary that focuses itself like a laser. True embeddedness with raw shots of abject terror lightened with the absurd comedy that makes up living in a war zone.

In the vein of Thelma and Louise but with none of the charm. It's rather on-the-head and brutish. The vistas are stunning, and those shots almost make up for the shoddiness of their cobbling together of a plot.

One of the most amazing films I've come across. Bathed in magic realism and the enduring influence of Terrence Malick comes a most unusual love story. A brilliant coming-of-age film which really distills what it means to become a man. I can't say much more about how brilliant this film is.

Has now become one of the most anticipated films of the year for me, with Alfonso Cuarón at the helm it should not disappoint, this clip is terrifying....

This would be apt for me.  All scenes I've seen thus far are real-time.  Wouldn't it be awesome if most/all of the movie were that way?  I read that it opens with a 17 minute opening shot.

During last 2½ weeks: Columbo, season 2.

A Stitch in Crime (with Leonard Nimoy as the murderous cardiac surgeon) and The Most Dangerous Match (chess master Emmett Clayton (Laurence Harvey) loses an impromptu game to Eastern European champion Tomlin Dudek (Jack Kruschen) the night before their championship match...) were probably my favourites out of these.
Dagger of the Mind (Columbo's visit to the UK), I didn't care for.

I've stalled at episode 5, should get back into it tonight, have turned my mother and wife on to OITNB, soooo good. Love the variety of characters, and the shifts from humorous to dramatic are well executed.

Indeed. In a few ways, it reminds me of House MD. The dark humor, the focus on a different prisoner (like the did with the patient), plus the parallel story with the staff (like with the staff on House.)

Pablo Schrieber as Pornstache makes the show for me.

Also Kate Mulgrey runs a better prison kitchen than she does a voyager class ship.

I think the second half of the season is much better.  There were a few too many moments earlier in the season where I thought the tone was too light for the subject matter.

Last night watched episode 3, with the scene where Pornstache asks Barrett about women in Afghanistan - "there were Russian hookers sometimes, but they were nasty, and they cried a lot." Great scene.

That episode was directed by Jodie Foster, by the way.

Finished the first season of Wilfred, about a pot-smoking former attorney and his neighbor's talking dog.  Twisted and dark, and from what I've read, it gets darker in the second and current third season.  A variety of small cameos liven things up from time to time (eg, Dwight Yoakam is a hoot).  A few of the episodes contain some of the most vulgar comedy I've seen.  I like it.

Finished Orange is the New Black. That ending was crazy. What's going to happen to Piper?   :o

Don't ruin it! About to begin ep. 7.
I want to know about the woman who's always crying on the phone next to Piper.  :)
