Malkovich is a bona fide men's fashion designer. I loved the name of his previous fashion line - Technobohemian.
Indeed. And that example is a nice take on the traditional Paisley pattern. But that's not how I'd wear a scarf - and neither would the Technobohemian himself. This is where it's at -

The Silencers is silly Bond spoof with Stella Stevens, Daliah Lavi and Cyd Charisse.

I saw that and one of the sequels (think it was 'The Wrecking Crew') at a midnight showing in a cool old cinema. :)
Also, it was shot by the same guy who won two Oscars and was responsible for Nicholas Ray's 'In a Lonely Place'. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/In_a_Lonely_Place ;D
"You overestimate my power of attraction," he told her. "No, I don't," she replied sharply, "and neither do you".

a very wet day, staying inside
The IRON-FISTED MONK  1993  directed by and starring Sammo Hung
more breasts than blood, but much, much action like professional wrestling but with greater speed and more tumbling.
and  FOUR LIONS  British  2010      dir. Chris Morris (mainly British TV - Big Train, Nathan Barley)
An action-comedy about four incompetent  terrorists - I'd be cautious about recommending this one.    Doctor Strangelove kind of humour.
An early appearance of Benedict Cumberbatch in a small part.

Wayward in places, but with some good laughs.

Don Jon (2013)

A film about expectations in relationships and how they can clash with the realities. Perhaps the way it goes about imparting that message might ruffle the feathers of some who believe in the idea that if you work hard towards a goal, then by default you're then entitled to happiness. And without giving anything away, it's nice to see a story about love and sex and relationships that doesn't profess to have all the answers for the characters.

Also, this is the best performance I've seen Scarlett Johansson give, although that might in part be down to it being a well written, realistic character - there are very many women with the emotional characteristics and needs that she so accurately portrays here.

One of my favorite movies of recent years.

For awhile, the main character had a funny twitter feed:  https://mobile.twitter.com/donjon?lang=en

Yeah, that's the golden standard of scarf wearing. Personally I like to wear it a bit messier and ruffled, in contrast if the rest is neat (something like this), or just wrapped around if there's no coat. But I do also wear it from time to time the way you and the technobohemian prefer.

At one moment in film Bond walks in a briefing wearing navy blazer with grey trousers and then in the next scene at M's office he is suddenly in brown three-piece. Now that is sartorial prowess!  8)

Cool. Those tweets are so in character. ;D

I've never felt I've the physical stature to wear a scarf in that manner, because despite being in good shape and having a certain amount of presence, I'm not tall. And so I feel can't carry it off to best effect. But I'm sure you rock it though. 8)

Yeah, but that's Bond. There's no competing with that! ;D

In other news -

La Doublure/The Valet. (2006)

[asin]B0014JKM7M[/asin]

Comedy starring Gad Elmaleh,  Alice Taglioni and the wonderful Daniel Auteuil - with the latter helping raise this lightweight vehicle for Elmaleh above the merely formulaic.
"You overestimate my power of attraction," he told her. "No, I don't," she replied sharply, "and neither do you".

An interesting take on the AI theme.

Well, just as a cool-down for the week, really, last night I watched Starship Troopers with the commentary by director Paul Verhoeven and writer Ed Neumeier.

Mad Max: Fury Road (2015)

[asin]B00QKS1XV6[/asin]

I finally got around to watching this from start to finish. It's highly entertaining and good fun throughout. It'll be interesting to see where they take it from here.
And as a bonus, it was cool to see that they chose to undercrank for a few of the stunts rather than include digital elements. 8)

I just re-visited this one recently .. and it's absolutely amazing in every regard, the work of a master. Pure cinema. I'm very curious to see what else George Miller has in mind .. he said he has lots of back story, 2 movies worth.

A dark film; one that explores "what lies beneath" in a character. Unexpectedly good and definitely worth a watch.
