I missed mentioning Spider-Man 2. Pretty well every ranking list I can find says that it's better than the first film. I concur. It feels much more assured.

Tonight, I'm going to watch Spider-Man 3. Every ranking list says it's the worst of all the modern Spider-Man films. Wish me luck.

Edit: The rankings were accurate. It's far from the worst thing I've ever seen, but the plot has some pretty crucial holes.** Sam Raimi apparently didn't want Venom in the film, but was pushed by the studio to include the character, and it rather shows.

**My favourite being the scene where Peter Parker essentially yells at the police "why didn't you tell us this 2 films ago?" and I'm sure the entire audience is right there with him.

Hilarious!!
I feel like I have to join Netflix yet again. I never stick around for too long. Maybe I'll wait. I hear tell that Norm Macdonald recorded a final standup sitting in a chair and talking to a camera. Perhaps that'll be on Netflix.

I remember not much caring for that one too.

I did, however, enjoy the sequel from this year for its b-movie sensibilities and sheer craziness.

L.A. Story. I hadn't recognized Patrick Stewart back when I first saw it. Brilliant!

I understand why it was completely cut, but John Lithgow is quite amusing in LA Story too.

SM2 is generally considered one of the best comic book films and I agree. Offers a great struggle for Peter between being a superhero or not. And the villain is human and relatable, with not wanting to just rule or destroy everything, and with his tragic origin.
And unfortunately the next reboot of SM wasn't very good, even with Andrew Garfield who is an excellent actor,

Which one?  The one with Jared Leto as the Joker or the one with the giant starfish?

lol no.  The Amazing Spiderman 2 makes Spiderman 3 look like a cinematic masterpiece!  I doubt any list would fail to put Amazing Spiderman 2 at the very bottom.

Well I can link you to quite a few lists that put Spider-Man 3 at the bottom. Yes they generally put that other one second from bottom.

My own assessment will have to wait until I see the Garfield films (probably in a week or two).

I recently watched 10 starring Dudley Moore, Julie Andrews, and Bo Derek.  A funny movie about a midlife crisis, massive amounts of alcohol and Bolero.

HP & the Deathly Hallows, Part 2 (2011)

One of Dame Maggie Smith's favorite lines for me has been from Clash of the Titans (1981):

QuoteWhy, once he even tried to ravish me disguised as a cuttlefish!

I am glad she got some strong moments in this final HP sequel. A fun ride with my daughter as she read this book series.

While Spiderman 3 is a mess, Amazing 2 is the one of the worst super hero movies I've ever seen.  It is a complete mess.  It has something like five different main plot arcs including setting up a universe (that never came to be since the movie flopped hard).  It has also poor editing and weak writing.

Spiderman Fans - need some clarification - the movie names are confusing for the occasional watcher of these action comic films - below is a list of the 'spiderman movies' (yes some he is part of the cast such as 'Captain America...') - in the past, I owned the first 4 films as BDs, but likely saw at least another half dozen listed after 2012 (just never made any purchases) - more recently I culled out a few and obtained the streaming 4K versions of 'Spider-Man (2002)' & 'Spider-Man 2 (2004)'

Now some here seem to like 'Spider-Man 2' w/ Dr. Octopus, as I recall, and some not.  There are many rankings, but HERE, the two that I now have as 4Ks are Nos. 2 & 3 (believe the Spider-Verse film is No. 1) - so for those fans, how would you put your top 3-4 choices (let's say w/ Spider-Man in the name of the movie) in order?  I might need to add another one - thanks.  Dave :)
