A night in noir

Great movie....in my top 3 Hitch's.  Even goes to No. 1 from time to time.
There will never be another era like the Golden Age of Hollywood.  We didn't know how to blow up buildings then so we had no choice but to tell great stories with great characters.-Ben Mankiewicz

For some reason, better the second time.

Now you tell me. When I've already sold mine off.

Yes, both disappoint, and that makes me even more careful when buying films.
I throw the bad films away, or give them to a friend of mine that works on a oilfield in Algeria, but there is a tolerance level far out form ours at home.
They almost accept all..............

Maciek

I usually buy mine used, the price is often similar to renting. Or I borrow them from friends. Still, disappointments remain disappointments... The wasted time!

Intriguing, Harry. Apparently you strive to make sure those bad movies end up as far away from you as possible... ;D

True my friend, true! ;D
And I agree with you, the worst thing is the loss of precious time.

At long last:

To Be or Not to Be

Some exquisitely hilarious moments punctuating thorough delight.

Although I had some cheek watching this with my wife and mom-in-law, since my wife's grandmother had to flee Poland at the time depicted in the movie (which did not at all deter these dears of mine from enjoying the movie as much as did I).

Maciek

Which one, Karl. The Ernst Lubitsch original or the remake with Mel Brooks? My wife is a big fan of both.

Haven't seen "Unbreakable", but "Get Shorty" was a terrible film, EXCELLENT book!  Yay, Elmore Leonard!

Immortal Beloved

Yes, I know its historically inaccurate, but I loved it (again).  :)

Now that I mention it, why is it so hard to make a movie about this guy that is actually based on the truth?

I've downloaded this movie and probably will watch it tonight. I didn't know they made a movie on Beethoven, the only one I knew is a very very old one, Hyper-Romantic in form and contents, which I did enjoy but I can't remember the title.

Failure to start

Begins kind of nice, ends in Americano sentimentality! :P

Yes, Get Shorty is really bad but Unbreakable is a good movie in my opinion.
Spatial distortion is a serious problem deteriorating headphone listening.
Crossfeeders reduce spatial distortion and make the sound more natural
and less tiresome in headphone listening.

Well, 50% agreement is better than none at all, right? :)
