This one has to do as my workout film this afternoon.
I think its a smashing little Art-Film.
Good camera work, and snappy dialogues.

Well, some films from the past - selected the 4 below from a recently 'burned' DVD pile of a dozen or so:

The Hospital (1971) w/ George C. Scott & Diana Rigg - 3+* in LM (Leonard Maltin) - saw this film as a medical intern (LMAO!) - the only others laughing were a bunch at the opposite corner of the theater; at the end when the lights came on, the bunch were my current medical students!  George is great, as usual, and looking at the young Diana Rigg is no problem for me -  :P ;D

Treasure Island (1934) w/ Wallace Berry & Jackie Cooper - 3+* LM; same rating as the 1950 re-make - I must say that both of these are good versions of this story; I like Cooper better as the kid, and Robert Newton better as 'Long John Silver' -  :)

Annie Oakley (1935) w/ Barbara Stanwyck & Preston Foster - 3* LM (same as Annie Get Your Gun w/ Betty Hutton, the 1950 musical re-make); Stanwyck is quite believable in this 'hokey' story of the 'amazing' Annie Oakley - enjoyable -  :D

Pork Chop Hill (1959) w/ Gregory Peck - 3* LM (should have been higher) - based on a true story from the Korean War - realistic portrayal for war films of the times - worth a watch if you like this type of story -  :)

This documentary about Roky Erickson's troubled life. The story reminds me a bit about Syd Barret, even if that one is probably more tragic. Roky seems to be quite fine from time to time, but with a mother like that I guess most of us could turn out a bit crazy. Anyway, he will play at a festival in my neighbourhood next Friday. I don't have high expectations.

Looking forward to that experience - got a 3+*/4 rating in my local paper & a 4* rating in USA Today - think I need to view those first two again, also!  :)

That looks great, Milos!

Let us know how it is?

Not one of his best IMO. It's basically a dissection of a breakdown and touch obvious and predictible at too many places, especially in heavyhanded dream sequences  (parents scene, nailing the coffin, 'grandma please don't lock me up in a closet' ...).

But it should be seen because there are brilliant moments in it. The scene in which her breakdown begins is absolute masterpiece on it's own and Liv Ullmann gives one of the best roles by anybody in anything, ever. To leave you breathless.

Unfortunately I don't think it's available on DVD.

If Ullmann's acting is that good then it certainly is worth seeing. The film company I use doesn't have it--and they have every UK DVD--so it's certainly not available here, if anywhere. "Not one of his best" reminds me of The Passion of Anna, but like with the one you've just commented upon there are a few scenes which are so good that they make the film a pleasure to see.

I love the animations of Hayao Miyazaki, and this one is no exception.

aka Burn. Good. Quite rough around the edges but manages to deliver the punchline.

Did you know you could stream movies from Netflix  ::) I did not, and when the movies scheduled for the weekend did not arrive, I went to their site to find out when they were due and saw that you could stream about 3000 titles in full resolution from their website.
The selection is limites and do not contain the best they have to offer. Nevertheless, I streamed this:

Hugely inferior to the original, but fun at times.

Also this:

Nicely, if a little coarsely, done.
