Uhhh...... 0,33 euro ?  ???

That probably won't fly..... unfortunately .... ::)

Q

Despite my doubts, I took a gamble - because that's what it is... :D

I bought it, too and received a confirmation, but no dispatch notice yet. It cost me 14 euros shipping to Canada. It is the max I was prepared to pay, even for a 0.33 euro price.

Contents listed on the Amazon.De site.

Oooh. That's a good price! Any recs on the label? I have a few wishlisted (like Tovey), but not many. Actually - any recs from anyone would be welcome...

The Tovey is nice but not a must have in my opinion. Pretty much all what is listed is good for the money. Meaning, Toccata is a quality label, so as far as my experience goes, most of the stuff is good, be it modern or classical, or late romantic. Thierot would be a recommendation, Jadassohn also,  but hey what stops you sampling the sound bites?
Any questions towards specific recordings, just PM me Neal, I have heard most of the recordings listed.
Perchance I am, though bound in wires and circuits fine,

The young Martinu orchestral music CD is terrific. Imagine a blend of French Impressionism and Dvorak and that's kinda what to expect.

For me in Spain it's even better: 3,32 euros! I wouldn't bet my life on ever receiving it, but you have to try.

Figured I'd ask. 200+ recordings is a lot to sample in a short time, and I wouldn't want to miss something essential. The Thieriot looks interesting!
Be kind to your fellow posters!!

By all means Neal sample what interest you, that may reduce the amount of possible buys. The composer Thierot is really a find for me. Just bought the second CD on CPO  for a pittance, such wonderful music. I wrote on my blog about this recording.

In this way he had a chance to have the rhythm drilled into him. And this was the beginning of a musical inclination in his descendants. JS Bach

amazon.de has the Erato, Teldec and Das alte Werk boxes for 60€ each:
http://www.amazon.de/Erato-Box-Various-Warner-Classics/dp/B00EDXH116/
http://www.amazon.de/Teldec-Box-Various-Warner-Classics/dp/B00EDXJQ1Y/
http://www.amazon.de/Das-Alte-Werk-50-Box/dp/B00EDXIIF4/

don't think I've seen them so cheap, they're usually in the 70-100 range, but I'm not going for any of 'em ... same for the recent Schubert Edition (50€):

but the Stravinsky box by DG is mighty tempting (49€):

They are still not selling, so wait a little bit and they will go to 29,99 a box. That's as sure as Britain will leave the eurozone! Good riddance I say!

Oof, so cruel, 'specially as (a) we love you all to bits, (b) we're not in your lousy Eurozone anyway.  But thanks for the links - I want that Stravinsky real bad, despite (or "because of") already having Stravinsky's own Big Box.  If only that damn' Euro would fall a little against Sterling...
