Harryhausen's practical effects photographed with early James Bond glamour - great.
Bonus: the elegance of Judi Bowker and her swan-like neck. Good stuff indeed. Hope you enjoy it!

Clash of the Titans one of my favorite Ray films - AND, the early scene of Bowker emerging from her bath is always worth a replay -  :P

But I was just curious 'how many' of his films are now on BD - below is a list of the ones enjoyed over the years - own just three on blu-ray (those in BOLD); several more are to be released in October - two others are BD but likely OOP at the Amazon prices being asked; and a small number seemed not to have a BD version - on my 'wish list' are Mighty Joe Young, Mysterious Island, & Sinbad and the Eye of the Tiger - Dave :)

Quote20 Million Miles to Earth (1957)*
Clash of the Titans (1981)
It Came From Beneath the Sea (1955)*
Jason and the Argonauts (1963)
Mighty Joe Young (1949)*
Mysterious Island (1961)*
One Million Years B.C. (1966) - no BD
Sinbad and Eye of the Tiger (1977) - no BD
The 7th Vovage of Sinbad (1958)
The Beast From 20,000 Fathoms (1952)*
The Golden Voyage of Sinbad (1973)*

20 Million../It Came.. - Dbl Blu-ray - $8 AZ
Mighty Joe Young - preorder (Oct) - $15 AZ
Mysterious Island - $189 (presumably OOP) AZ
The Beast 20,000 Fathoms - preorder (Oct) - $18 AZ
The Golden Voyage.... - $164 (presumably OOP) AZ

Yes, Judi Bowker's bathing scene is certainly an eye opener!

I was reading through your list and realised I still haven't seen Mysterious Island, so I'll need to attend to that. I prefer to do most of my viewing in the cinema, but as time passes the attraction of having discs handily on the shelf and available to my whim(s) is growing.
"You overestimate my power of attraction," he told her. "No, I don't," she replied sharply, "and neither do you".

I watched this film over and over again when I was a kid. I always liked the story and the special effects even though they may be dated now still impress me to this day. I can't wait to see it on blu-ray. Also, for some odd reason, I used to watch a Spitting Image special that aired on mid-80s called The Ronnie and Nancy Show over and over as well. In fact, I found it on YouTube. Ah, nostalgia.

Here's another Spitting Image special that aired in the mid-80s:

And a tie to one of your favorite bands, of course.

Yes and I remember that video like it was yesterday. It's too bad music videos nowadays aren't that creative like this, but the music isn't good either.

One thing that I thought Spitting Image puppet makers messed up on is Tony Banks. It doesn't look anything like him and he looks too happy as well. Definitely not Banks. :)

Mysterious Island is a fun film - love the GIANT stone crab (one my my favorite crabs to eat) scene (one image below) - Dave :)

P.S. below, right - my lunch in Everglades City, FL a few years ago -  8)

Just bought:

I was always curious about this trio of great musicians (Norma Winstone, Kenny Wheeler, and John Taylor) and so I sampled some songs via YouTube and found their sound/style to be right up my alley. Just gorgeous music-making from three masterful musicians.

Hey John - not sure 'where' you are located in NE Georgia, but last month we did a 5-night stay in the north GA mountains - stayed @ the Brasstown Resort near Young Harris - did a 'travelogue' HERE - take a look to see if I 'screwed up' any facts - ;)  Dave

Very nice photos, Dave. 8) I've been to Brasstown Bald several times. I never stayed at the resort as both times were just daylong trips. In fact, when I was in the Boy Scouts, we hiked all of the Appalachian Trail in Georgia.

This looks very nice - I would probably buy it for the stickers and poster alone :)

Im a bit anxious about whether I will actually receive a copy or not as it appears to be Unavailable on Amazon.Uk already (im assuming it sold out perhaps).
I am really excited about his set so I hope my Pre-Order is honoured.

I'm not crazy about that artwork as it looks more like a Yes album design than something that related to Hackett. Thankfully, I own all of the studio albums on Charisma and they've been remastered and sound awesome.

I agree it does look like Yes artwork - I like it but sure it would have been nice to have something along the lines of the original album covers.
I got a couple of Steve Hackett albums already on your recommendation and really like them - I am very excited about this box :)

A Kim Poor art design (his ex-wife and an artist who created so many of his classic album covers) would have been more appropriate IMHO. Anyway, you'll have to remind me again which Hackett albums do you own already?
