But somehow Daddy is always #1 in Kimi's book. I have been trying to raise Mommy's standing for her. If I get something for her I always give credit to Mommy. But there's something about daddy and daughter, or mommy and son that seems to override that.

Yes, it's quite unexplainable as so many important things in life. And quite noticeable in father/daughter relationship because boys are generally quite less expresive than girls, so sometimes their dependence of their mothers seems less evident... I recall when I lost my mother -when I was 25 y.o.-, it has been the most devastating experience of my entire life.

"Kimi, why are you picking up that pebble?"
"I want to play hop-scotch."
"So you know how to play it?"
"Yes. You throw the pebble. Then you hop on one leg--just like Liu Xiang."
"Liu Xiang? Who told you about him???"
"No one. I watched it on TV. His one leg hurts so he hopped on one leg--the good one."

This morning:

"Daddy, may I have a piece of Kisses Chocolate?"

"No, Kimi. You had one last night. You only get one piece a day."

"Daddy, let me ask you. Is this morning part of yesterday? Answer me."

All that's missing is "and I rest my case" and you get yourself a four year old lawyer!

Well, you walked right into that one, Paul.

She is a very astute little girl.

I recall that when my daughter was little I told her that I was going to raise her pocket money. I thought that she'd be pleased with this news but she immediately asked me when the increase started from, presumably assuming that I was going to backdate it to the beginning of the financial year.  ::)

Isn't it funny how people react? My first thought wasn't how clever she was (which was a close second), but rather that she only gets ONE chocolate a day!! I mean, talk about crazy restrictions!! :)

Kimi did not mention anything about SHARING. I think she wants complete takeover.  8)

Just arrived home from two weeks away in the US. Boy how much a child can develop in two weeks. I got this:

"Mommy, what is an assistant?"
"Well, an assistant is someone who helps you do some things when you are too busy to do all the work. I have an assistant at work. So does your daddy."
"OK, then you are my assistant."
"Yes, I guess you can say that."
"Now, go put away my toys for me. I am too busy to do it."

You forgot to tell her she will need to pay her assistant - perhaps in chocolate! :)

Maybe garlic. Chocolate? Never!

BTW, she says chocolat in French. She must think it sounds cool.

Kimi is here on my lap. She asks me to do this:

:)    ;)    :D    :(    :o    :P    :-[    :-X    :-\    :-*    :'(    >:D

She tells me these are her favorites.

Kimi sends her love to everyone here!

Were you able to pull off all of those emoticons with some degree of success?
I can see how  :o and  :-\ might be difficult. You might have some serious problems if you can pull those off accurately. And for  :P you might need a bigger tongue.

(Kimi- ask daddy to do all the emoticons at the same time)  ;)
