That happened when I copied the address and opened it in another tab and it asked me; at the time, I said no.

I did go back and try some things.  I checked my settings in Safari for Amazon and I had had content blocking "On" for both this forum and Amazon.  I tried enabling both of them (turning CB "off") and that didn't make any difference as to what I could see vs. not in terms of images.  I'm not certain what else I could try changing?  Anyway, I don't want to sidetrack this thread any further.  Perhaps one of the mods could shift the relevant postings elsewhere?

PD

The issue may be related to the issues you discussed on your YouTube thread, having a version of Safari which is too far out of date to handle some protocols now in use. (We also had a computer that failed to work with Youtube until Safari was updated.) I'd suggest trying Firefox.

Thanks, I might go back to using FF (had used it on Windows).  As far as youtube goes, I've been able to search again there (probs only lasted for a few days).  :)  Also, I haven't haven't been able to see certain images from the get go here; it's not new.  So???

Anyway, thank you for your suggestions.  I appreciate it!

Last night watched the Great Courses on Sacred Music, streaming from Wondrium - only 16 lectures (could have been twice that length) - but Monteverdi was the main discussion in the talk viewed - so for a nice Sunday morning playing the 2-CD set of Claudio's music w/ Suzuki and his gang!  Dave :)

Hello Jan
Not necessarily enjoying yet but Messiaen's music is intriguing for sure, a similar feeling to what I felt recently with some of Muraro's set of his piano works. I'll persevere  :)

That's the spirit, the curtains will open and the reward awaits you. One work is more accessible than the other, let it come to you without effort, without wanting to grab it.
You could also listen to Jennifer Bate, she has an approach that sounds less abstract, I would almost say more lyrical and clearly reflects her love for this music. Hard to describe but if you listen to it you know what I mean.
Muraro is a very good interpreter, but it is recommended to also listen to the recordings with Messiaen's wife, Yvonne Loriod. In these works, another interpreter can also be helpful in getting into this complex music.
Important.....enjoy the ride. :)

A great disc! Jurowski is the only conductor whom I have ever met - he was very friendly and a delight to meet.

Of my recent Honegger outing, it has been an easy favorite. The symphony is so cheerful, although it is probably the darkest start to a Christmas Cantata that I can remember.

Very good to hear about Jurowski! Kindness isn't a prerequisite for listening to music, but it doesn't hurt to associate an amiable personality with it.

I think the best cantigas recording I know - and it's a crowded field. The quality of Japanese early music performance is astonishing, they must have some top researchers, top conservatories.

And, I like these a lot, and the programming with Stravinsky's Pulcinella Suite is (of course) perfectly natural.
