Yes, it looks better, if no one pays attention that Orthodox church domes has nothing to do with Bruckner. Can you fix the violin on Leonid Kogan's album?

P.S. I think I first heard Bruckner's 5th in this exact performance about 40 years ago on a Melodiya LP. Original cover from discogs:

I wish it was ....
Actually, Le roi David exists in three versions :
as a"drame biblique", a play (as performed in 1921 at the théâtre du Jorat/Mézières - Switzerland), with numerous spoken roles and music  (soprano, alto, tenor solo,  mixed chorus + small ensemble: 2 flutes (1 doubles piccolo), oboe (doubles English horn),2 clarinets (1 doubles bass clarinet?), bassoon, horn, 2 trumpets, trombone, timpani, percussion, celesta, harmonium, piano, double bass (cello ad lib.).
as a Psaume symphonique -symphonic psalm (1923): idem version 1921  no spoken roles, condensed texts spoken by 1 reciter
as Psaume symphonique - idem, but re-orchestrated for large orchestra (+ organ and harp).

The "original" drama with music, has, afaik, never been recorded. The other versions have been recorded several times.

The 1921 aesthetics seem rather primitive unusual today....(think of Cecil B.De Milles Sign of the cross etc. + a good dose of Swiss Eurythmie/Dalcroze...)

I think this one is my favourite, mainly for the violin that's had the "warp" filter applied to it:

It is difficult to completely un-warp the violin, because I don't know the exact warping parameters, but here is my fixed cover art with 95 % un-warped violin:

Spatial distortion is a serious problem deteriorating headphone listening.
Crossfeeders reduce spatial distortion and make the sound more natural
and less tiresome in headphone listening.

Maybe not outrageously ugly, but a weirdly unattractive cover.

Yeah, that's all sorts of "Nope".

Most likely, this violin will never be returned... Surprisingly, the original envelopes of these Kogan concerts looked quite decent. Here, for example, is the envelope of the LP with Barsukov's concerto:

I also enjoy the "Plays Loud" title.  ;D

For the first performances in the Théâtre du Jorat, no six packs or soupy sunsets were chosen:

Mézières 1921 - quite fun aswell... biblical Smurfs and lots of old curtains:)

to the bolded - that made me chuckle!!

Yeah, it is very comical. Whether it is intentional or not I don't know.

Reminds me that I keep meaning to come up with a cheat sheet to have on me (or on my phone) for when I am a record store and come across old Melodiya records as I can't read Russian!  If I'm lucky, I'll at least recognize the composer or possibly the artist.  :-[

At least some of it is in English--whew!  ;D

Outrageously ugly is a description I'd be quite comfortable with.
