Quote from: DavidW on June 07, 2024, 09:03:14 AMI'm cooking up some vegetarian chili mac.  Or as my Father (a texan) would say... soup! :P
What do you put in it?  Always love a new (and hopefully good) recipe.  :)

Yellow onion, red bell pepper, garlic, tomato paste, vegetable broth, red kidney beans, macaroni, chili powder, cumin, salt and pepper.  Oh and top with parmesan cheese.

I got delivery Chinese recently and I'm looking forward to the leftovers. The dumplings are really good.

Thanks!

By the way in case you didn't know, you can buy concentrated tomato paste in a tube and store it in the fridge.  It keeps forever (well, close to).  :)

I know it is summer... but now I'm making REAL chili in the slow cooker! Oh and by real I mean it has meat, it fails the Texas definition because it includes beans. ;D

O.k., so is it a new recipe?  If so, how do you like it?

Oh no not at all.  But it is the first time I used the slow cooker for it though.  I liked it, but I think I overseasoned it a little.

Saving money for vacation, so today's breakfast will be six eggs, scrambled.

Ah I just had scrambled eggs and biscuits for breakfast.

@Todd I was sorry to read about the death of a local chef--Naomi Pomeroy who, from what I understand, had worked hard to put Portland on the culinary map.  49 is way too young.  From the tiny bit that I've read, it sounded like she was not just an amazing chef but also a kind and decent person who tried to make a difference.

I picked up an indoor grill, air fryer, etc, and have been cooking.  Grilling is fast and convenient.  And all the parts are dishwasher safe so it is easy to clean.  So far I've cooked burgers, steak, hot dogs, french fries, and grilled chicken tacos.

You got it!  My sister told me about a higher-end Ninja that is also a wood smoker.  I got a cheap one.  It is still 5 in-1 and doesn't take up much counter space.  It grills, bakes, broils, dehydrates, and is an air fryer.

Now if it would just do the dishes afterwards....

Must admit, I've been tempted to get an air fryer.  What did you think of your fries?

Good but different.  There is not much grease, so you have to use seasoning to give it something.
