Channel 5's new drama series The Night Caller has me hooked from episode one. Dark, dangerous and a little bit disturbing. I thank my lucky stars that I was never a taxi driver through the night in the city of Liverpool. Acting outstanding.
You must have a very good opinion of yourself to write a symphony - John Ireland.

I opened the door people rushed through and I was left holding the knob - Bo Diddley.

I stumbled across Good Mythical Morning and its associated channels on YouTube and have been binge watching.  It's so much fun, and sometimes they cover the most important topics imaginable in an even-handed way, such as:

The universe is change; life is opinion. - Marcus Aurelius, Meditations

People would rather believe than know - E.O. Wilson

Propaganda death ensemble - Tom Araya

Grace season 4 Britbox, Line of Duty season 3 Britbox (at least my second time watching this amazing show), Presumed Innocent Apple TV, and Grimm season 5 Amazon Prime.

My daughter just read the book series and watched the 2008 film. Thought we would check this one out too.

It is quite dark, with too much coming-of-age angst for younger readers, and not edgy or fast moving enough for older readers. Not sure who this one was for.

Christian Slater hams it up though!

Polished off following three episodes in one sitting. Best watch this year!

Will have to keep this one in mind. Thanks, @Irons .

Took a long break halfway through the series because it was so bleak and harrowing to watch, but finally finished Baby Reindeer on Netflix. Based on a real-life stalker case of the main actor, among other bleak developments. A hard watch.

Modern Pyongyang looks much more moneyed and architecturally interesting than I had realized.  (read looks in italics) Spent a while on Google Images after the first two episodes.

I assume they weren't actually allowed to film those bits there, but the illusion is impressive.

I thought I had only seen the first episode of Grace, but according to Britbox, I'm already halfway through season two.  I'm kind of mad because I don't remember.  Do I trust them and move on?  Or rewatch and be frustrated because then I start remembering?  I don't know.

I watched S2 of Wheel of Time, even though I thought I would never... but then between my experience watching Foundation having mostly forgotten the books and also seeing how the fandom wrongly turned their backs on the Whittaker era due to a bad start... I decided to re-approach the WoT TV show with an open mind.

And it is much improved from season 1.  While not book-accurate, it is finally tonally and thematically accurate and is broadly faithful to the characters and their arcs.  And that is all I asked for.  If S1 were like S2, I would have immediately been a fan of the show.  That said, much of the finale was not earned and was rushed to the point of being incoherent and confusing.  There is a character that completes a major arc in just two scenes. That is how character growth works!  The magic system in the novels has rules and the reader knows what is possible and what is not.  The show is so arbitrary that anything could happen, and using magic to resolve a conflict is not satisfying.

I've also been (re)watching S1 of The X-Files, which I had seen when they were new but so long ago that they might as well be new to me now.

I vote for rewatching.

Although I am not, in fact, presently watching The Avengers, I had to share this:
Patrick Macnee: "In the year 1960, which I think was when the Bond films started (actually 1962, but please continue, Patrick), somebody said, when I was in Canada, when I was preparing to do 'The Avengers', they said, 'Will you read the Bond stories by Ian Fleming to get an idea of your character?' And I read it and said, 'I would like to play, and in fact, I will not be in the show at all unless I can play, the part completely opposite to James Bond.' I find James Bond repulsive, sadistic and, of course, we now read the life of Ian Fleming and realize that he liked smacking women's bottoms more than anything else. Just read it."
On the screenwriters of "The Avengers": "There was no good writing, there was no clever dialogue. Di [Diana] Rigg and I used to write all our scenes because it was so badly written. They were written as rather ordinary thrillers, to be honest. The writers chose very clever topics, like having a robot man way before people thought of robots, etc. But what we really did, and I say 'we' advisedly, was to see what would happen if we took these perfectly straight stories and then made them ever so slightly ludicrous - because we thought that life was ludicrous anyway, which it is! To stay alive and all, you have to be slightly mad - but you also had to be basically cool. We used that, we tilted it a bit, we made it funny and the show worked."
When asked in June 1982 which "Avengers" female lead was his favorite, Macnee declined to give a specific answer. "Well, I'd rather not say. To do so would invite trouble," he told TV Week magazine. Macnee did provide his evaluation of the female leads. Of Honor Blackman he said, "She was wonderful, presenting the concept of a strong-willed, independent and liberated woman just as that sort of woman was beginning to emerge in society." Diana Rigg was "One of the world's great actresses. A superb comedienne. I'm convinced that one day she'll be Dame Diana" (his prediction came true in 1994). Linda Thorson was "one of the sexiest women alive" while Joanna Lumley was "superb in the role of Purdey. An actress who is only now realizing her immense potential."
During his run on "The Avengers", Macnee's only weapon was an umbrella sword; he was rarely if ever seen carrying or using a gun. Macnee has stated in interviews that he insisted on this, because he had seen enough carnage in combat during his military service in World War II.(IMDb/Wikipedia)
Happy Birthday, Patrick Macnee!

After Secret Army I decided to watch Colditz, an earlier series from the same producer. This one is about POWs held by the Germans who have attempted to escape from their camps and are now being sent to a supposedly escape proof facility. Once again the show is based on real events.
