Not so ugly apart from the gray background, but who had the brilliant idea to photograph a streetwalker? 

It's a pretty good album apart from the track with George Adams singing.

Nobody did. For one thing it doesn't say Brain Homage, it says Dennis Brain Homage. Or it just says Brain. There's nothing in the typeface suggesting that only 2 words are important instead of 3. It's all you.

Of course it's all me, but if I've learned one thing it's that I've never had an original idea in my life, so if it occurred to me it has occurred to other people. If you're a contestant on Wheel of Fortune, what are you guessing?

Frankly that's the least of the problems for me. I find that ugly cover art and I don't like how Marc Soustrot is poking with the baton like trying to give a lobotomy to someone!

As far as I can see, the album was released on the Italian label Soul Note. Most likely, the photograph was taken in Europe by an Italian photographer. Obviously, women in 1970s Italy dressed differently than in America. So, I'm not sure your guess is correct

I mean, that's beyond untrained. You have to specifically intend to make that kind of mess of the information. If that's a recent release I'm almost inclined to write to the company to ask how they could allow someone to so deliberately make the cover difficult to read. I wouldn't have picked Pentatone for doing something like this.

Edit: It was in 2012. But seriously I hope there was some kind of consequence. That should never have been allowed into production.

The blurring is not the problem. The blurred images are easier to visually process than anything else.
