Percy Jackson and the Olympians: Season 1 (2024)

Apparently the book's author was displeased with the films, so he has a larger role in this streaming show. There is definitely a stronger presence of Greek Mythology, thus I learned about Iris, Oizys, Echidna, and Porphyrion.

Excited I finally managed to get a copy of season 3 of Tin Star, so got straight into the first couple of episodes last night, and its every bit as good as I hoped.

Yeah, nobody is going to be satisfied with their life encapsulated in 7 or 8 minutes. Even so, in broad strokes, it's an amazing document.
It's all good...

@Number Six I believe that you sadly disappeared before I had a chance to say that I watched the last episode of The Prisoner ["Who is No. 1?!"].   :(  Glad that you are back!

Good job taking it all in quickly! It's a fantastic show, but it can get a little repetitious after a while.

That ending is bonkers, right? :P

Just started watching a BBC series called River.  It's a BBC show/series dealing with a police officer who is struggling to deal with the deaths of people that he knew (including victims, etc.).  I won't say more.

SILO continues on Apple TV+, with one new episode a week. This week was s02e04.

This season, they have done something fascinating: They are giving us parallel stories that show the aftermath of a major event and the early days of a similar event. Because we know where all the activity can lead, there's a great deal of suspense every time something happens.

It's a terrific show with lots of great acting.

Watching a bit of the series called Jo with Jean Reno.  It's a police procedural set in Paris (though the dialogue is in English).  From 2013.

@Number Six (also open question to others here), I recently heard about a show called Bad Sisters which sounded interesting [apparently an Irish adaptation of a Belgian show called Clan maybe @pjme is familiar with that show?].  It's on Apple t.v., which I haven't tried before.  Have you watched it?  If so, what did you think of it--and please don't go into too many plot details.

The actress Sharon Horgan was interviewed and I saw a clip of it and was intrigued.

I watched Bad Sisters a year or so ago. I don't remember any thing now, although I'm sure if I started watching it again, the plotlines would come back to memory.

Isn't that the perfect example of an ideal series? Or perhaps any event in life? Easily absorbed, easily forgotten, leaving no trace behind. Things pass through our perception, disappearing without a trace. We stay for ever.

I debated between liking it and finding it "a groaner"...if there is such a term? 🤣🙃

I loved it because it's not the ending I expected.

According to the comments, the woman was a regular on Magnum PI, which explains the seemingly random reference to the show.  ;D

The first Irish language TV drama I've ever seen, and the language certainly adds something to the remoteness of the setting.
It started very well indeed, a tale of the death of a policeman's mother whose body turns up in a peat bog, fifteen years after her disappearance. Secrets unearthed, policeman a very troubled character, stunning Donegal landscape as its intense and moody setting, determined journalist from outside the small village community drawn in ... fairly standard plotlines I guess, but the tension is sustained brilliantly, until the penultimate episode where it dipped somewhat, and then the final episode which was a real disappointment.
Shame, though the first part worth the trip alone for me, and I could almost say the same for the scenery and photography too.

I'm finding the scenes between Tim Robbins and Tonya Moodie so cringey I can't make it through them.
