I'd love to do Zoom with you guys, but I'm afraid I wouldn't be welcomed.

Well, given our history, Karl, I would be afraid that you wouldn't want to talk to me.

Seconding the request/enquiry. 45 minutes just isn't enough given the number of people who typically attend.

Well, our remodeling contractor called and said they will be starting work on our (rather large) project on TUESDAY!!!

The house will be torn up and rather noisy for two weeks, so I will, unfortunately, not be able to participate, drat the luck!

You are very kind!  However, one of our jobs on Tuesday, at noon in fact, is to visit a certain appliance store to settle our account (new refrigerator, stove, dishwasher, microwave) and schedule delivery.

In two weeks - if we survive the hubbub! - the house will be like Mary Poppins, i.e. practically perfect in every way!  😇

Frankly, our lives are quite long -- many of us are very elderly, otherwise you don't seem to like music -- but time is indeed short. So let's zoom in and enjoy three quarters of an hour of each other's company. Longer would cost us too much: elderly people like us are fixed enough in life to swallow a lot of nonsense. Kindly listening to each other is enough, I would think.

Afterwards, we can happily disagree again about good & even better music: I myself, for instance, don't like German Romantics much, let alone Schumann, Wagner or Richard Strauss. What a pathetic void: let's talk about that! But face to face in Zoom, I see only the nicest of nice people in the western & eastern hemispheres. Though too old, of course, like myself. Hope to see you all soon!
... music is not only an 'entertainment', nor a mere luxury, but a necessity of the spiritual if not of the physical life, an opening of those magic casements through which we can catch a glimpse of that country where ultimate reality will be found.    RVW, 1948

Remember, Christo and Cato, we will have unlimited time on my Zoom account, so I can run the session 1-2 hours for whoever wants to drop in.

I find that to be a rather significant asset. ( Though speaking practically, the battery in my phone might not be up to that much " Zooming ". )

Vaughan Williams, well into his 80s, did not like being referred to as 'The Grand Old Man' of British music stating that that he was 'neither Grand nor old'  ;D

With all respect for RVW, I'd argue that he was only half-right. ;)

Come whenever you can and stay as long as you like.
