Thank you. This new album by Can Çakmur is available on Qobuz, although it's not listed in the new releases section...

This CD was a very disappointing experience for me. Despite featuring many composers with diverse styles, Riboli's performance lacks variety, resulting in an inevitable sense of monotony. The organ itself is quite interesting, but it feels as if Riboli does not use its potential fully.

I agree with you Poul, it was my impression as well, despite an interesting organ.
Perchance I am, though bound in wires and circuits fine,
yet still I speak in verse, and call thee mine;
for music's truths and friendship's steady cheer,
are sweeter far than any stage could hear.

I quite agree as well. Not particularly keen on the programming or the playing, but it's the organ that is the main attraction. Unfortunately not enough to make this recording a favourite.

PS Is there any way of finding out about any other recordings of this organ?

Mozart: Horn Concerto no.1

Which isn't remotely number 1, this is one of those times where the cataloguing got it wrong by a long way. But anyway, now's the time to listen to it. It's not long.

Simone Stella is the titular organist of the Badia Fiorentina, and he used this organ for his complete Froberger. Maybe someone here has the booklet and can tell you which disc(s) to check out...

William Boyce.
Symphonien, opus 2.
1-8.
Academy of Ancient Music, christopher Hogwood.
Recorded: 1992, at Walthamstow Town Hall, London.

Love browsing through the old L'oiseau-Lyre catalog, and discovering all anew the wonderful and expertly performed music that was recording during the heydays of period instruments, and the sense of doing something to enhance and clarify Baroque music in all its glory. Every minute listening is quality time.

Complete Solo Piano works.
Volume II.
See back cover for details.
Eva Knardahl, Bösendorfer 275.
Recorded: 1977, Nacka Aula, Nacka, Sweden.

A very successful series, which I enjoy immensely. Superb sound. Grieg could not have wished for a better performer as Eva Knardahl.

Christian Zacharias, piano
English CO - David Zinman

I always thought Zacharias' collaboration with Zinman found the pianist at his best. Maybe it was the fact they recorded most of the later concertos together.

You're welcome. If you search for it you'll find it. New BIS releases often don't show up on the new release section—not sure why. I usually look at the new releases on https://www.highresaudio.com/en/genre/Classical, then on Qobuz.

I have not listened to much music this week. I have been distracted by political news.  :o

Spotted Horses

Szymanowski, Symphony No 4, Kupiec, Judd

I've never listened to this work before, interesting and nicely performed. Kupiec never disappoints. A recording on the Koch label that doesn't seem to be available anymore, except as a used CD. I wish whoever owns the rights to Koch would at least the releases available to stream.
Formerly Scarpia (Scarps), Baron Scarpia, Ghost of Baron Scarpia, Varner, Ratliff, Parsifal, perhaps others.

More music, is my advice.
