Have now finished Series 2 of The Split, which I found even better than the first, with actors now seeming absolutely inside their characters, making for excellent chemistry and a feeling of genuine emotion and life being played out. And the lovely touch of every episode being rounded off with a poignant and superbly judged Olivia Broadfield song was perfect. Not sure I'll be holding off for long before moving on to Series 3.

Well, the seven seasons of Mission: Impossible on blu-ray was undeniably a lavish impulse purchase, but I am unrepentant. I'm not saying it never happened to Martin Landau's Rollin Hand, but Nimoy's Paris seems frequently to get in harm's way. I may have said before, but the most noticeable difference in Season 4 is that, without Barbara Bain as Cinnamon, a given episode may or may not have guest actress to fill that void.

Best this year, by far. Nicola Walker and Stephen Mangan are currently starring in "The Unicorn" at the Garrick Theatre. I have a birthday coming up and thought why not until discovering ticket prices. Only tourists can afford West End theatre tickets these days unfortunately.

I opened the door people rushed through and I was left holding the knob - Bo Diddley.

Nice to see John Williams as a guest on Mission: Impossible

Nobody Wants This (Netflix)

Binged this over the weekend. Think along the lines of a sarcastically funny but sweet rom-com à la Colin from accounts but with a Young Rabbi (due to become head rabbi) and an atheist sex and relationship podcaster...and no dog.  :P

It doesn't always get to the heights of Colin season 1 but it still draws you in. The 2 protagonists' relatives are very funny and add to the layers of this comedy.

A very funny series for a niche market: a satire on the many police shows, particularly the CSI and NCIS franchises!

The title itself launches the satire:

NTSF: SD: SUV

Available on "Adult Swim," which has edgy comedies and cartoons (Rick and Morty);

"Trent" often satirizes the David Caruso character on CSI: Miami with jokes involving sunglasses!

Just started Season Five. A couple of new things, the episode doesn't start with the "self-destructing mission tape," but with an intro to the story generally. And, they decided to add Leslie Warren ("Dana") to the team in Barbara Bain's absence.

I always liked Lynda Day George in the last years of the series.  Her husband was Christopher George, famous for the WW II series The Rat Patrol.

I'd forgotten how deliciously creepy "The Architects of Fear" is.

Departure, Series 1 and 2.

Not bad. Trains and planes.

Boom.

The Outer Limits did creepy extremely well.

I should re-watch some favorites, it's been a while.

TD:

This week I've been re-watching last year's Shogun via several reaction channels on YouTube. While l don't get to see every second of any episode, l get to see most of them. Every aspect of the series is a home run, from cinematography to performances to music to the writing. Bravo to all involved.

Surely a great product but IMHO we'll ever have a private life of Castlereagh or Regent
